    Name Three Things - 2020

Another sleepless night....last time I looked at the clock, it was 3:55. And the cats made sure I was up at 6:00. Going to be a long day. I don't know why I'm having such trouble with sleep lately. Breakfast for the girls, emptied the dishwasher, and am sitting back here with my coffee More...

    What's For Dinner? - 2020

Rick went to Arby's for take-out last night. I asked for a Reuben. And got a chicken salad sandwich. And a bad chicken salad sandwich at that. I didn't care for it at all. Rick asked for a Reuben, but the order got messed up. Ick I found a recipe for a Tomato Galette that's been bugging me...

    Name Three Things - 2020

@Mia6 I think that little boy has chosen you for his new mama. :hearthrob: I'm thinking about 4 inches of my hair, too. But for now, I'm going to let the color go and let the grey come in as it wants. Headache this morning. Not a migraine; I think it's a combination of the heat, the humidity...

    Amazon Fire Stick

We did upgrade, @artiemom, but just to the better Firestick, not to a 4K one. That did seem to solve our problems with buffering and such. We didn't have to upgrade our old stick or anything, but we had a lot of streaming/buffering issues. With the new stick, I'm now able to stream from...

    Name Three Things - 2020

Rick did bring some ears of corn in from the garden yesterday. After finishing up the tomatoes, I blanched and cut corn for the freezer. We had some for dinner, so I only got about a pint for the freezer. He also brought in the inevitable tomatoes and some peppers, including some banana peppers...

Question of the Day - Monday, August 10, 2020

After suffering through a severe bout of sciatica several years ago, I learned to enjoy shopping online. And I probably increase my online shopping every year. This year, due to the pandemic, other than grocery shopping and an occasional trip to Lowes for she shed building supplies, I've been...

How is your school operating in the Fall?

Our schools were going to be open for in-person classes. But since our County has increased dramatically in covid cases (partly due to the prison in the county), the Gov has recommended the schools not open at this time and do remote learning. I hope that's what the school districts decide to do.

    What's For Dinner? - 2020

I'm going to use the leftover ham in scalloped potatoes. Or ham and pasta salad. One or the other.

    Name Three Things - 2020

I know @Mia6. But the veggies are ready now and so I need to do them now. It's only for another month or so and then it will be over and we'll have veggies for the winter. I feel better than I did last night! Molli and I stayed in bed for a while this morning. Rick came back and saw me with the...

    What's For Dinner? - 2020

Last night (Sunday) I made the French onion Salisbury steaks with just baked potatoes. And a salad. Tonight, we'll do a ham steak. I'm going to ask Rick to throw it on the grill. With just a salad to go with.

    Name Three Things - 2020

I'm so tired tonight. Going to grab a shower and go to bed. My back and hip are aching. I went right from one thing to another to another all day today. It is time-consuming to prepare the veggies for the freezer. Did the morning thing with the cats and the dishwasher Chopped a ton of peppers...

Question of The Day. Saturday 8th of August.

Right now, it's the girls: Mollipop, Muffin, Tabby, and Amber Louise. We had to put The Beast (aka Jackie the Beagle) to sleep back in the spring. She was Rick's parents' dog and when his father passed away, we took her. We had her for almost five years, I think. Years ago, I had an Alaskan...

    Could use some good thoughts.

I'm glad that he's going to try to do better. You need sleep! You can't help him, if you're dead on your butt! Try to get some rest. :hugs:

Question of the Day, Sunday, the 9th of August, 2020

When I was younger, I would have probably said July was my favorite because of the heat. I love being warm. As I get older though, I'm thinking April/May because it holds the promise of new life. You go outside and there are so many shades of green on trees, in the yard, along the road. And I...

She Shed Pictures (from the Outside)

Thanks guys! I'm thrilled with it. I love our she/we shed. Still work to do with the stones and edging, but we'll get there. Next spring, I'll work more on plants and flowers. But for now, we're good. @debbila The size of the she shed is 12 x 20, which is larger than our living room. Our house...

    What's For Dinner? - 2020

I took 1-1/2 pounds of ground beef out of the freezer. Can't decide between a meatloaf or French onion Salisbury steaks. With a baked potato or a Hasselback. And a simple salad.

She Shed Pictures (from the Outside)

Coming around the side of the driveway to the shed. You can see where the end is not finished. We need more stones to finish it. We painted the deck light and dark grey. I like it. Unfortunately the birds do, too. We're dealing with bird poop on a regular basis. This is Roland. Once we...

    Name Three Things - 2020

Awakened at 5:30 with a headache. Got up, fed the cats, and went back to bed. Got back up around 9:30 and I feel much better. Very restless night; the last time I looked at the clock, it was 3:15. I needed the sleep. I put butter in the microwave this morning to make oatmeal-raisin cookies and...

    Gardening 2020

We did get some corn. The ears are really small, but some of them are nicely formed. We did get four nice ears for munching on last night as well as four more that we blanched and froze on the cobs. The rest were simply blanched and I cut the kernels. Still this was more than we expected to get...
