Vomit regularly, but not too often

These things also help our cat who both barfs and regurgitates. Anything to slow down her eating -- including foods she will eat but doesn't love! -- helps. Yes, if your cat is doing this while eating or right after eating, it would be regurgitating. And it would be unlikely to be caused by an...

    Dry cat food

If the foods have ingredients like grains, potatoes, or peas, that might be your answer. One of our cats barfs if she eats potato. But each cat is different so you'd need to track ingredients carefully to figure things out. We feed very small amounts of Dr. Elsey's Clean Protein chicken food...

Are Allergies Usually Caused by Main Protein Or Secondary/Filler Ingredients?

You're welcome! I know what you mean about the mussels: they're in lots of good foods. There were a couple that had both mussels and agar-agar, which bothered our other cat (most likely both cats since Edwina barfed less after we got rid of agar-agar but didn't stop until we took her off the...

Are Allergies Usually Caused by Main Protein Or Secondary/Filler Ingredients?

Yes, do try the proteins again, in simpler recipes. Just keep track of ingredients, as @LTS3 suggested. It can also be really helpful to keep a "catlog" with adverse incidents: that's what helped me figure out one of our cats had problems with green mussels. Good luck!

    New Tiki Cat pates!

Those look pretty good, thanks for mentioning this! I noticed they also have new "Special" foods in pouches, where there's a focus on something like digestion or weight management. Our cats have loved Tiki, then hated Tiki, but now they love it again so I'll have to give some of these a try.

    Questions for those who homecook

Yes, I think there's someone else on the site whose cat particularly loves thigh meat! Our cats are especially mysterious because they loved Rad Cat best of all, it was the very very favorite food. (We all miss it!)

    Questions for those who homecook

The cats seem to particularly like low-fat cuts like pork tenderloin and chicken breasts. Their least favorite cut of all is turkey thighs and they're not fond of chicken thighs, either, though I do sometimes combine those with other cuts. I also buy turkey tenderloin and pretty much any kind of...

    Questions for those who homecook

I don't use ground meat but that's only because our cats don't seem to like it as much as whole cuts that I either grind myself (because they like me to make the extra effort!) or slice, dice, or mince. One cat actually seems to like hand pulled meat best but it's a bit of effort! One thing to...

    Dr Elseys?

Yes, calories is probably the best guide. And, like @maggie101, I don't weigh the cats, I look at them and notice how much I can feel their ribs and/or spines when I pick them up or pet them. Our cats' appetites and activity levels fluctuate a fair bit so feeding them the same amount all the...

Cat vomits every night, only at night

Hello, @Fatima.j.k, and welcome to The Cat Site! This is an old thread so you might get better/more responses if you start a new one. And you'll most definitely get more responses if you describe more about your cat's situation. Things like: how long this has been happening, what your cat has...

    Tiki Cat Concerns

That's how we feed it, too: about twice a week, splitting a can between two cats. It's a great bedtime snack. Plus our cats are middle-aged and don't need super high calories, even though they're pretty active. They get the calories from other meals! There's also the option of Chewy's knockoff...

    Tiki Cat Concerns

This is generally true! And there's also nothing wrong with feeding a variety of foods that have a variety of calorie contents. And textures, too, if the cat will eat them.

    High Calorie Wet Food?

I hope your next one arrives promptly! I'm sure a lot of the timing depends on what's ordered and where it's coming from: I had one split order that arrived over a one- or two-week stretch but it did all arrivem from various places! And they actually duplicated a lot of the order without...

    High Calorie Wet Food?

Same here: Chewy's getting quicker again. My last shipment was almost as fast as it used to be.

    High Calorie Wet Food?

I'm glad she's happily eating the Fancy Feast. And yes, the selections aren't quite what they used to be on Chewy: they're doing really well (knock wood and all that!) with what we feed the most of (freeze-dried raw foods) but some of the canned stuff I've wanted to order has been missing. I'd...

    High Calorie Wet Food?

@maggie101's suggestion of Wellness Core is a good one: some of those are very caloric, though check the ingredients because some of them have (or used to have?) potato in them. Our cats particularly liked the kitten food, which should be pretty caloric. Kitten foods are generally more caloric...

    Chewy’s Miko - discontinued?

I'd wondered about Miko! I bought chicken/turkey and our cats liked it. But then it wasn't available so I bought chicken/veg, since the carbs are still so low. They really love that one. But yes, the American Journey looks exactly the same. They must have just rebranded. I'd wondered why they...

    Food for Bengal cat

We feed a sort of odd assortment! On the cheaper end, there's Chewy's Tiny Tiger (turkey only, since the others have small amounts of fish), Sheba pate (surprisingly decent for the price); in the middle there's Weruva BFF (Play pates and OMG little chunks) plus Chewy's Miko shreds (basically a...

    Food for Bengal cat

We feed our cats a combination of wet foods: freeze-dried raw, homemade cooked food, and canned (one small can a day for two cats). Unless your cat(s) has/have very sensitive digestive systems, there's nothing wrong with doing that. Our cats love it for the variety. The downside to...

    Dr Elseys?

Dr. Elsey's does send out samples: they sent me two little packs of Clean Protein. I use it as treats, for topper, and as a very small pre-breakfast snack. Other than treats and that tiny snack, our cats eat only wet food but Dr. E's is very decent food and our cats absolutely love it. The wet...
