Hello, my cat Wren has been doing great, thanks to all of your help when I first used this site back in 2018!
I've continued to struggle with teeth brushing, however, because he likes his toothpaste too much and probably because it's a little uncomfortable. When I use a toothbrush or my finger...
I am back from vacation! It went fine. I heard he missed me a bit (kept sleeping on my pillow), but he was happy and well-adjusted. The first thing he did when I got home was stare at me from the staircase, go for a sniff, and then promptly try to bunny kick my feet.
I'm going on vacation for the first time since I've had my cat and I just want to know how I can make the transition as easy as possible. He seems to have a decreased appetite when I'm gone for more than a day.
I have two more days until my vacation, so information is whatever I can...
My cat seems to be ~20 inches long!
I didn't realize how big he'd gotten. How big are your cats?
Furthermore, what carriers do you use? I purchased a large one that is 19 inches long and he fits but it looks uncomfortable. I prefer soft carriers because my home is really strapped for space.
My cat does drink lots of water on an all-dry diet and drinks very little on an all-wet. I remember the first time I trialed an all-wet diet, I was worried that he wasn't drinking water until I realized that he just didn't feel thirsty anymore because the wet food was enough.
I feed 50/50 dry...
I haven't been able to find it in stores yet :/ checked my local supermarket and my local pet store (Petco) has gotten rid of most of its Fancy Feast products. I'll let you all know how my boy likes it when I've found it.
Scruffing does seem to work for other people. Specifically, I saw a vet do it but I feel like without proper technique, it could be very dangerous. I also just hate seeing my cat struggle like that, reduced to ... well, an animal. So I likely won't try it again.
It's really my mom who wants a...
My cat used to be really good about nail trimmings, but as he's gotten older, he's gotten less compliant. He'll hiss, try to bite, and fight.
I'm wondering what I can do to make it easier. I think part of it is that I get upset hearing him cry, so I'm not good at holding him down. My mom...
I feed my cat Instinct Original in the Chicken flavor and Tiny Tiger Pate/Sheba Pate/Miko Consomme. I wish I could feed him duck (any brand) every so often, so that he could have some variety, but it seems to be too fatty for him.
