    Clindamycin and Diarrhea

It’s not bloody, it’s watery in the sense that all diarrhea is, like a chili consistency (sorry for the graphics). I stopped this morning and hoping to hear back. Have also contacted her mobile vet that she sees sometimes to see if she can offer any advice. I hate when you can’t get in touch...

    Clindamycin and Diarrhea

Hey guys, My kitty is on clindamycin for a dental abscess. She is having surgery on the 18th to remove the teeth, but she was placed on clindamycin until this Monday to clear up the abscess (total 10 days). She now has diarrhea once a day. We’ve switched the food to Purina EN with rice and...

Caregiver Burnout When Caring For Special Needs Cats?

When I’m feeling real anxious about my cats needs, I at least promise myself to let it go at night. I lay down with some guided meditation and try to remember I’ve done everything I can. Take care of yourself in little ways like that, allow yourself to sleep. It’s so important and your cat...

    Resource For Grieving Or Caregiving

Yeah, I know what you mean. It does make you angry sometimes. Like the ones that just send you on your way with medicine and then wash their hands of it. I’ve seen a lot of that. But I’ve learned to stick up for myself and advocate. They’re people too, so usually if you pipe up and say hey...

    Resource For Grieving Or Caregiving

Yes, that would be very interesting. One things we talked about last night is how vets have a hard job of dealing with the human side. Like they aren’t psychologists, but they often have experience in managing human emotion. That would be a great go between!

    Resource For Grieving Or Caregiving

Yes, and we also spoke about hyper vigilance. Feeling like you have to sleep with one eye open. A lot of really in depth topics. I’ve noticed in the past with similar things that they don’t spend too much time with you. I know there are a lot of resources but just wanted to shout this group...

    Resource For Grieving Or Caregiving

Hi all, I just wanted to talk about something I experienced last night and share the info in case it can help someone else. In caring for my cats odd diagnosis and managing his medicine, I’ve been really overwhelmed lately. I’ve been looking up anticipatory grief and other topics that...

    Hyperesthesia And Long-term Gabapentin

I notice the same thing. My boyfriend and I have learned to do the same and distract. A finger snap, laser pointer, change position. It really is a good tip! It also makes it hard to believe that it’s not just all in their minds....I find it quite interesting that my cat never does it when...

    Hyperesthesia And Long-term Gabapentin

Hi all. Not sure if anyone is checking up on this thread anymore, but just wanted to put it out there that I know how hard it is to see your kitty go through this. My sweet Duke was recently diagnosed. He has upwards of 10 episodes a day. We are trying the gabapentin, but it’s so difficult...

    Season Allergies Or?

Hey there! I've only been using the oil for a couple days so I suppose I hadn't expected to see a benefit yet. I have not tried feliway because I read somewhere the diffusers kinda let off smoke or burning? Maybe not though. Thanks for the reply!!

    Cat Won't Eat After Enema

Hey there, I have a cat who occasionally has pretty bad constipation. We once even did an exploratory surgery to find out what was causing it to no avail. Once things get back to normal (and I am hoping that they will), the only advice I can really recommend is to ask the vet about Fiber...

    Season Allergies Or?

Hey guys! Hope everyone is doing well. Lately my 2 cats, Duke and Gizmo, have been excessively over-grooming. A little background, Duke was at the vet 4 weeks ago for 7 dental extractions. One of his sutures ended up coming loose, so we made several trips back there. I had to treat him...

    What Did I Just Witness...

My neutered male cat does it to pillows for year. He finds just the right corner on a square one when he's feeling anxious and goes to town.

Did I Make The Right Choice?

You absolutely made the best decision for Whiskas. In my past experiences with this, I've had the same thoughts. My cat Chloe crossed over 3 years ago from complications with diabetes. And when I boil it down to "my cat would not have wanted a feeding tube, my cat did not want to go back and...

    Antibiotic Thoughts

Hey again! I posted on here this weekend about my cat Duke with his 7 dental extractions. He's doing fine, he's just developed an "odor" in his mouth that I've never smelled before. Called the vet and she wants to check his sockets for infection. We are going to the vet tomorrow, but I...

Dental Extractions - When Was Kitty Normal Again?

Hi everyone. Still don't think he has pooped, waiting patiently or the vet to open tomorrow morning. We went against the rules today and I hand fed him some dry food, as his food intake (wet) is decreasing. He just swallowed the kibble whole and no problem there. He's sleeping a lot more and...

    Buprenorphine-Not Sleeping?

My cat just had the same thing with that medication. He had 7 extractions. Staring at the food and water and zoned out, delayed reactions. It took him 48 hours to sleep finally. I think he was just so wired from the whole episode.
