There's a new product called "Tidy Cat Small Spaces" designed for people who have cats but live in apartments.

http://www.tidycat.com/GetPage.aspx?ContentID=288

Anyone give it a try yet?

I've been alternating between Arm & Hammer and Tidy Cat (regular clumping varieties), so I decided to give it a try...bought three 20 lb jugs and will start using it in about a week. I'll start posting my experiences once Nano's two litterboxes are up and running with this new product.

I looked at the link, but I'm not sure what distinguishes this litter--why is it better for small spaces than other litters?

it's less dusty and it has a different scent. i don't really care about the scent, but it *is* alot less dusty. it also clumps MUCH better.

I think it is supposed to quickly/instantly neutralize odors, which is important when there is limited amount of floorspace and the cat's litterbox might be next to your bed or next to the toilet.

But I don't know...that's why I am gonna try it out and report what happens in my 600 sq ft apartment.

It's just kind of funny. The way companies market products just humors me. If it is so much better, much less dusty, and neutralizes odor much faster why do they market it as being for small spaces... why not change the original formula?
I am sure folks living in large spaces like having less dust and odor as well.

I was thinking the same thing!!! If it's so much better for small spaces, imagine how great it'll be for big spaces! I think it's just a way of trying to market the same product to different consumers, to be honest...

Why release this product? (rhetorical)

Perhaps the general public has decided the "crystal" style of litter is a flop. The crystals stuff doesn't last as long as they say (general consensus) and a good number of cats rejected it (Nano included). So now they need to develop a new upper-end product...

They have the basic clay, the basic clumping...and now maybe this stuff?

Please note I am guessing as to their motivations, but a jug of Small Spaces is priced about 150% the cost of the basic Tidy Cat clumping litter so it is not like they could just release it as a new formula to replace the old. Whether it is really a superior product to the basic or just clever marketing...we'll soon find out.

i use tidy cats crystal blend but i decided to try this. i can smell cat poo when i 1st walk in my apt since i started using it. plus, it sticks in chloes fur. i find it all over her--in her toes, her underside, her back.... im switching back to tidy cats crystal blends since it works better.

I would love to try it. I live in a 2 bed 2 bath apt. No windows in the bathrooms. I haven't seen this small spaces litter on the shelves though at any market or petco. Is it really new? Does any one know where they sell it?

when i picked it up, i got it from wal-mart. they had it on an end-cap. but the last time i was there i noticed it had a spot on the regular shelves.

My cats really like it.  It smells like Mr. Bubble bubble bath, haha.  The clumps aren't alll that but if you're a frequent scooper you can get away with it.   I missed a day scooping once and the box was a gloopy mess :( Granted, one box for three cats at the time, but still.... I do like the scent.
