I brought her straight into the house and wrapped her in a blanket. Been holding her ever since
What a treasure that you have a photo from that day. :)

Muffin is only 12 lbs.
Demi is 12 pounds. I thought Muffin would be bigger, but Demi is quite long.

They have all found safe, comfy spots to start hibernating like little bears.
Where is my little Lady sleeping? I'll be envious of whoever gets to cuddle with her. :redheartpump:

Around here, getting 'nailed' means a foot or more. We have Lake Erie to our southwest, and Lake Ontario to our north, so depending on the wind direction, we can get lake effect snow from either way. We can even get lake effect from Lake Huron or Georgian Bay.
That actually sounds beautiful. I've heard of lake effect snow but have never seen it. I really do look forward to the pics this winter!

She had never seen snow and she had walked over to a stump and just stayed there. She was too cold and scared to move once she got there. When I observed that, I knew I had a chance to get her.
I really love this story. Such a cinderella story of kitty land! And she lived happily ever after.. :lovecat2:

LOL, I grew up during my early years in Anchorage, where the first decent snowfall was 18" or better. I miss it dreadfully. And every other house on the block had a vehicle with a little snow plow on the front, and if you DIDN'T have one, whoever was headed to the store would offer you a ride, every...single...time. Places like that foster real neighbors.

Buffster7 Buffster7 It was a Happy story for Callie. I had been trying to get her and her siblings siblings for some time but their Mom was a very experienced older feral who taught them well. The snow actually brought many of the kitties into the shelters I had provided with heat and that made it much easier for me to help them. Callie and her look a like sister were both rescued. It was many months before I caught sister Kelly and her babies. All happy endings though.

N NY cat man I admit I am glad I don’t get feet of snow every year but I do love to have a bit of snow. Winter wonderland! I imagine it gets tough to tolerate after awhile. The extreme heat and bugs does too. Too bad I can’t trade you a hot day for a cold one!

Mamanyt1953 Mamanyt1953 Anchorage?!?!? Wow.
It’s true that extreme weather can bring people together in good ways. It sounds like that was a great time there. ;)

I thought it might be interesting to sneak out and watch the kitties to see what they were doing while they thought I was busy in the next room. Lol
Here’s the answer.

Hmmmmm. Sleeping, hanging out, one watching the back door and one watching the front!

Have a great night everyone! :heartshape:

This look, though!! I hope you learned your lesson..:loveeyes:
I did! I was a baaaaad hooman. ;)I’m remembering my early days with BJ and feeling very lucky that he didn’t eat me. :flail:Those photos are a clear example of a kitty who is angry.
Note the pupils. Definitely eyes of an excited/aroused/nervous kitty.

Snow is like most things- best taken in small doses. Once, I almost was stranded at work when we got around 7 feet of snow, and I was there by myself. Thank goodness that I had access to a front-end loader to dig myself out. It took me over 3 hours for what was normally a 40-minute drive.

Lady has the Catbird seat!
Wow, that's a high seat. Fit for a Lady or Queen.

BJ. I did it again. I went out st night. (He gave me, “the look!”)
When I walked around the outside of the house the other day, Maggie came to the window screen. She knew it was me out there. :)

I knew he had decided to forgive me when he started making biscuits on my stomach.
Demi can't make biscuits on my stomach anymore because of my surgery, so I put his blankie to the side of me. :redheartpump:

I had a close call as a teenager, coming home from babysitting late at night. The snowplows don't go through the back roads after a certain time. The snow was so high that my car couldn't make it. Thankfully there was a house that I went to for help and they let me inside out of the cold. Scary. :eek2:

Adding my *PRAYERS* and best wishes for all in flood zones!
The spring toys are great. We had some, but somehow they got lost a house or two ago. We love da Bird -- it's the favorite of all toys, along with catnip anythings.
Awww, Wanda Heart has a twin! Like little kids with "imaginary friends" everywhere, she's sure to have a lot of fun with her. I love the pic of her with the wafting tail -- long and waving, very pretty!
I MISS snow so much. We're still in the high 80s-low 90sF here in la-la land, and all of us will be so glad when summer is history.

7 feet!!! I can't imagine how long it took that to melt! Oh heck no. I want a foot of snow, but then I want it to melt and be 73 and sunny the next day. That's not asking too much, is it?

I’m going to post our smiles while I can still get on site and can stay here . Losing the page!! Repeatedly. For those of you who have sent me posts I may have trouble responding right now. I am still around as I can get on though so please go ahead and post and I will respond as soon as possible.

Play time with little Wanda Heart!

Once winter takes hold in NY, it's here to stay until spring. It's pretty rough.

Two bears?
I don't think my cats are fooled by the mirror. Demi looks at himself, but if he thought it was another cat, he would try to play with it, and he doesn't. :headscratch:

Very smart. Back to climbing!
I remember those kitten days, when Demi was an endless ball of energy. :eek2:

Honey from Pooh
Honey sounds good right now. As long as it's Comb Honey in a jar, not in a tray (also called Chunk Honey). :yummy:

Jcatbird Jcatbird Wanda Heart is elongating!:flail: She's getting to be more young lady-ish by the day! And two bears? Twice the fun and love! ;) I know -- I am still sort of hit-and-miss and I have no idea what's going on. Mani got some of the stuff straightened out, but since I have no idea where the root of the problem lies, I can't communicate effectively about it to get it all straightened out. I'm always wary when there's an update installed on any of my devices because there are almost always bugs associated with it (I think some of the code monkeys take a fiendish delight in that!) but this was happening before iOS 13 and before the latest large WIN10 update so IDK.
