YEAH! Not sure if they'll cover Waylon tonight but certainly tomorrow if not tonight.
Almost forgot -- in my area, at least, a tribute to The Highwaymen (Waylon, Johnny, Willie Nelson & Kris Kristofferson -- but then, you knew that already, right?) is on right before "COUNTRY MUSIC", at 7 pm. I've seen this one and am going to watch it again because it's a really great tribute. If you do watch, have some tissues close!
Looking forward to tonight’s episode.

I do not think Waylon is on tonight.

I was searching through the TV screen guide. The next episodes, after tonight’s is on Sunday.

The documentary continues next week.

I am still recording them.

This morning I had to play Hank’s songs.

I grew up on country. My mom used to listen to The Opry on their big radio. My dad remembers them even picking up some stations from Hawaii. This was just outside of Boston. The radio atmospheric conditions were great during the 40’s.

I vaguely remember a huge radio, from very early preschool years. And a tiny screen TV in a huge case.

artiemom artiemom : Very eclectic family musically speaking here -- my dad loved international music from anywhere and everywhere, jazz, swing, and classical. His mom loved country and I have some of her 33 1/3 vinyl albums. Dad was given a bunch of 78s by a neighbor at one place we lived and I have those, too -- a lot of jazz greats! My maternal grandmother loved jazz and Irish traditional. Mom liked what was on the easy listening type radio. So I like all of those and more.
Your mentioning the distant stations brings to mind what was said in the docs about putting up those huge towers and broadcasting to wide areas. That must have been amazing, picking up stations from so far away before streaming. On the request shows on my classical station, KUSC, people email from all over the world -- there was someone from Hungary whose request was played recently!
I have my grandfolks' old radio. It's a beautiful wood cabinet. I want to bring it in from the garage, because it's just so pretty and it's an heirloom, so to speak.
Thanks for the update!

I still have a ton of homework to do but I almost don't care that much because I needed to get Fayola home. I couldn't wait to see her - I missed her so much. She was also happy to see me.

Now, she needs time to heal mentally and physically. Then, I guess she can live out the rest of her days here with us. I don't see why not. She is Felix's biological mother after all and keeping her is a beautiful end to her rescue story.
Lovely Fayola! I'm glad she's home with you.

Happy to hear it worked out picking Fayola up by transit. You must be thrilled to have her home and I'm sure she is ecstatic to be back with you. :catlove:

My positive for today is I made it to exercise class. I always look forward to going but didn't sleep well last night and was thinking about skipping it.

I am almost done with my monthly task at work and my sister asks me to accompany her for an all-paid trip to Europe. I am excited but I don't know how to tell my boss that I will be on vacation leave for two weeks. I really hope that he will approve it since I have never failed to meet the deadline for the last three years. Wish me luck, I hope that everything will turn out fine.

tarasgirl06 tarasgirl06 I also have a pretty eclectic taste in music; although I do not have interest of jazz.

When I was a little girl, I had terrible nightmares. I slept with a nightlight and a transistor radio on.

I fell asleep to pop sounds of the late 50's early 60's. A ton of music. I got to know all styles at that time. It was a mishmash of things. As music was in transition.

My mom loved country. I also listened to Polish Polka music, since that is my heritage. That is another type of folk/country music.

Now, my radio stations are: classical, 80's, country, and some new music.

Now we hav wait until Sunday for more episodes! Last night was good. I think it may be a "Patsy" day.

After this series is over, Poldark :redheartpump: returns for it's last season :bawling2:

My Ex #3 has Polish ancestors and an Americanized Polish name (given, no doubt, when his Polish ancestor arrived here and the American processing him couldn't even begin to pronounce, let alone spell, his name o_O. People always look at the name and then look at me, quizzically. "Wait...WHAT?") That's one of zillions of things I love about the internet. I can look at, and listen to, whatever I want, without the quizzical looks, the criticism, etc. "THANK YOU, YOUTUBE!"

Yeah, I bawled last night. Ex #3's mom loved Patsy. I had never listened to her but he had 2 tapes of her and those were hard for me to give up when we divorced. I almost wore them out. What an amazing voice! I didn't know she was only 30. Seems so many great artists were taken so soon. Have you seen "SWEET DREAMS", the biopic starring Jessica Lange? I may have asked you before. I think it's a really good film -- hard to watch, though, and definitely have lots of tissues handy.

I missed the last season of "Poldark" but am thinking about watching this one.

I felt the same way after watching it, I wanted to listen to Hank.

I slept with a nightlight
I still sleep with a nightlight.

I loved that movie.

The documentary continues next week.
It's not on tonight is it? My dad said it is Sun, Mon, Tues, Wed?

My positive is that I fell asleep while watching the PBS doc last night. So that means I'm actually sleeping! I was so afraid that I wasn't.

Your dad is correct!
I have two really cute cat night lights. Unfortunately, this house is old (1937, also the year Waylon was born) and doesn't have the amount of outlets that newer places have. The master bedroom outlets aren't placed so I'd see a night light in there. But I have one in each bathroom. One is a Siamese (with a broken tail, unfortunately! I don't know where the other part is) and the other is a Persian.
Yeah, that was a great film, wasn't it? I love biopix for the most part, because I think everyone is fascinating and everyone has a story. Have you seen, "I Saw The Light" with Tom Hiddleston playing Hank Williams? He did a great job, I thought, and it was a good film. That was made when he was going out with Taylor.

Me too, I love movies based on real people because there is always more of a story.

No, I didn't watch that one yet because we canceled Netflix for a while. I'll have to sign up again.

My positive is that there is no PBS documentary on tonight, so I can catch up on the two episodes I missed or slept through.

There you go!
They show "I SAW THE LIGHT" on tv from time to time, so maybe you can see it without Netflix. I really recommend it -- it surprised me, being so good! I've seen him in other things and liked him, but didn't really imagine he could "be" Hank Williams.

I walked 6km today (with breaks in between) without getting overworked/exhausted. I'm getting so much stronger, my heart doesn't even beat as fast and hard as it used to when I first started walking. My goal for each week is at least 10km collectively.

I was also able to finish paying for the puppy I plan on adopting from the breeder I've been talking to. We're going to pick her up tomorrow evening! :hyper:

Fayola will be able to live well with it in the house?

I have been watching this program. I don't like country music but I love Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson and Patsy Cline. They are my favorite singers.

Beautiful day yesterday. I wasn't able to sit outside because pain levels were too high but I read on my tablet. Hannah made me grilled cheese and bacon sandwich on Tuscany bread. Instead of butter she used Hellman's mayo and it gave a little tang to the sandwich, yum. Callie is still looking for the Vincie girl
and seems depressed. I've been giving her lots of kisses and pats.

Great job. I'm going to try to take a walk today too on the 2 roads in front of my house. We'll see how it goes. No sidewalks! :eek2:

I love the story songs of country music. :)

I got some Biofreeze pain gel from Walmart. It cost $12! I hope it works.

I love grilled cheese. Never heard of Tuscany bread, but it sounds good. :yummy:

My positive for today is what I said above, I'm going to try to walk on the two roads in front of my house. I wish we had sidewalks, but this is the boondocks. :D
