My poor kitty! We took our 15yr old in for adenoma growth removals as one has started to both her after a few years, and 2 tiny ones were growing by it. We will get biopsy results Fri or Mon. While doing so, I opted to get her teeth cleaned. The vet called and said they found a tooth absorption and that it was painful and needed to be removed. Ok, better to do it now than have to come back. We did it, she ended up finding out a tooth on the other side had already been reabsorbed too. Never heard of that until today. I go pick her up, and the vet just got her urinalysis back and said she has a UTI. So, my "easy" growth removal turned into quite the visit.

She's on pain meds and still groggy. How do cats typically bounce back from these things? She's in her surgical body suit and just kind of hanging out by her food area. The good news is she went down the stairs well, scarfed her food, and went potty/poo! But, it's hard seeing her so drugged up and not herself.

Well that was an ordeal! But at 15 not surprising. Sounds like she's doing well if she managed to eat and go to the bathroom already. Good luck on the biopsy!

So today she wouldn't eat her soaked kibble. I got a couple cans of wet food, she ate about 1/4 of a can of that. Is it to be expected she is eating less after all that and while on pain meds?

She will be fine! It is much better to get all that out than leave it in. If she had never had a dental before it is not surprising in the slightest that she had more issues than seen right away.

She will likely take a few days to get back to her old self. That was a huge ordeal to have to go through at her age. Make sure she is at least continuing to eat and drink something.
