Please send good vibes & prayers for tomorrow. I have my follow up appointment at 10:15am and my Lab Work. I just hope everything goes okay and I can go back home and relax until Oct. 10th when I see my new doc. I need some time away from doctors!
Vibes and hugs for tomorrow.

I just saw the bill. My surgery was almost $28,000. :eek3::eek3::eek3:
Thank God for the angels at Medicaid. That doesn't even include my 2 ER visits and this last hospitalization.
I was looking at my paper and this last hospitalization I had Pneumonia and Partial small bowel obstruction. I didn't know that I had Pneumonia. How did I get that?:headscratch:

It says no fasting for my labs. It says Hypokalemia was my diagnosis, low Potassium that can lead to cardiac arrest. :eek2:

Do I go to my follow up appointment first at 10:15 am or to do the Labs? The labs don't have a time written, so can I just go after my appointment?

And yeah, just walking across the doorsill of a hospital will bankrupt anyone who doesn't have any way of helping with the bill. It's WAY out of hand and I won't even get started on how I feel about the whole subject, but don't you worry about it. You need this care and you're going to get it and that's all you have to deal with, except getting through the tests and getting better! :hangin:

I would go to the doctors appointment first. You do not know if the doctor would want another lab test, depending on how you are doing.

If he does, that can easily be added on to the orders he gave for he blood work. You would only need to get stuck once!

Been there, done that.

Good luck. :goldstar: :goodluck:

We will be waiting for a report from you.

At least you have your license. Independence for you, once you are feeling better :cheerleader::bouquet:

They told me the same thing when I was in the hospital last year. Did they give you that disgusting orange thing to drink? I told them there was no way that was going in my mouth, so they gave me potassium in my IV.
If you had to drink that nasty stuff, my sympathy for you just went up.

I got my new driver's license in the mail today. The picture isn't bad, but my face has this frozen corpse look to it, like you can tell I've been through an illness.
Well, you HAVE! *Maybe you should audition for one of those thrillers?* :insertevillaugh:You should have seen me when I got out the hospital. Small children ran in fear.:crackup:My pic is so bad I always warn people who are about to see it that it's the "deer in the headlights effect".

:hangin: Frozen veggies have instructions on the package, usually dump frozen into a microwave safe bowl, don't use plastic if you don't have to, add a couple tablespoonful water, cover, I usually use plastic wrap, glass lid or wax paper. Nuke for around 8 minutes, see package, dab butter, scant dash salt and enjoy. Lots of great simple recipes on the site Allrecipes.com. :vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes:Tomorrow.

I send vibes every day. :redheartpump:
My daughter was in intensive care for a month once and three other times later. She did not have Medicaid or any form of assistance. I know about the shock of seeing the bill. Lol It’s worth it all to have you here. Life is far more important.
Drivers liscense? :bunnydance::banana1::woo:
BTW those photos are never our favorites! :p

I had to drink something that tasted like cough syrup for my colonoscopy. But for the potassium, they just put bags of it in my IV and now I'm taking pills twice a day. They are almost gone though.

My pic is so bad I always warn people who are about to see it that it's the "deer in the headlights effect".
This pic is actually better than my last 2, but the corpse look is a little disturbing. :D

I just hope I keep living. All this talk of low potassium and cardiac arrest has me scared.

EXACTLY. GET BETTER!

Sorry it was a nutcase at work yesterday and took my bike ride. Today is our pot luck benefit for a coworker who sadly has medical stuff going on-so i won't be on much after 10 as I am tryingto cook down some of the fresh tomatoes I picked yesterday.. I made a pan of mac and cheese and need to heat that up.

Good luck today!!!

Someday I'm gonna have to visit you and sample your mac and cheese. Is that the one with the Saltine crackers crumbled on top? I love casseroles.

Today went better than I could have imagined at my doc. He was so glad I was there without my mom. He canceled the blood work and said to just continue what I'm doing and make absolute sure that I poop every single day. Sorry if that's gross! He said not to take any pills or supplements from my mom EVER again. He wants me to cook my own meals too. He said that I saved my own life by being honest about the stool hardeners that my mom slipped me. He said they thought I had cancer and were about to operate. But when I told them what my mom did, they gave me the colonoscopy & enema instead and that cleared out the mass. It was impacted poop, not cancer.

I told my mom a few things he said, not all, and she is in the kitchen throwing things. :rolleyes3:
