Is one pouch really a serving for one cat? It looks so tiny compared to the 5.5 oz can I'm currently feeding them so wondering how it can be a perfect portion. Thank you.

It is tiny....Its NOT but like 1.3 oz in just one tray...after u break them apart...its 1.3oz in each tray..if u feed both trays that are stuck together..u have around 2.6 ozs....

So like how much of those per one cat? They're both average sized cats and I have seen Treasure hunting moles and voles in the yard.

Have thr cat eat today
Because alot of people break them apart n feed one portion like in morning..n then the other portion at lunch..n break another in give another portion in evening...And it also depends on the size of the cat n how much they are used to eating

If one cat is used to eating one

It would take 2 perfect portions BEFORE u break apart to make close to 5.2oz...which is close to the 5.5oz u been feeding...But remember...when u take the perfect portions out of the box...IF U DONT BREAK THEM APART...IT WILL TAKE 2 SETS TO MAKE 5.2OZ....IF U BREAK THEM APART..IT WILL TAKE 4 INDIVIDUAL PORTIONS TO MAKE 5.2OZ

Treasure and Sopdet are 9 lbs. I haven't weighed Sopdet but she's same size as him. Shaman is like 13 lbs. Ambrose and Cooper are 10 lbs. But remember I have 5 cats here with very very limited budget this month. I just find opening a 5.5 oz can goes to waste because they'll eat 2 or 3 bites walk away and won't touch again for days (yes I keep refrigerated). So I'm at a loss. I can't keep going through food like this.

Sounds to me dry food would be a better n cheaper option for u....And just kerp plenty fresh water at all times
Especially since u r feeding several feral kitties
Ok great. I'll use Sheba (and the lil soups they like so much) as an evening treat then.

I generally find for my indoor cats that 20 kcal/pound works. For an outdoor cat likely you want to feed more. I read online the Sheba is 45 kcal per serving? Which is 4 per day for a 9 lb cat if that’s all they eat.

CatLover49 CatLover49 had a good suggestion - if budget is an issue I would supplement with dry food. It will stay fresh longer, and you have many mouths to feed. Add the wetfood as your budget allows.

As for the food looking like less than a comparable 5.5 oz can, I feed a handful of different brands and he volume can vary quite a bit. Some of the foods seem so little, but based on the can information they are more calorie dense.

In my humble opinion, sheba isn't worth it. It's a bit over priced for what it is, it is bio-unfriendly, and it is packaged in such a way that it's confusing when portioning and kind of useless. Not to say it's horrible, but there are better bangs for your buck out there - most definitely. Mine is on sheba right now and I'm looking to switch because at the end of the day, I'm ultimately wasting more (plastic; money) than what I'd be wasting with other foods.

I would encourage you to have a look at chewy as you can find more bang for your buck around there and buy in bulk. (save money)

You can use the filter to filter out certain dietary factors; flavors; and sort cheapest to most expensive; so on and so forth.

Chewy is really not an option for me at the moment because of Mom. Otherwise yes I agree. Sadly though Sheba is the only thing the cats will eat.

Does Sheba ONLY come in the Perfect Portions now? If so, that stinks.

I think they're marketing toward the average cat own, who feeds both canned and dry food and doesn't like smelly leftovers. Most cats will eat about an ounce all at once.

If that's all you feed, yeah, they'd need 2 trays a day, or 4 Perfect Portions, for most cats anyway. A large or particularly active cat would need more.
