I figured since I got so much info on the kitten I’d post my other kitty. She’s a 6 yr old female I got from a rescue 5 years ago. She’s not a true Siamese don’t let her appearance fool you. She’s a mix like all the other kitties out there.

I just want to end a debate with my husband, what is her coloring called?

I would describe her as a blue point domestic shorthair. She's absolutely gorgeous!

Most cats aren't "mixes" of breeds like dogs... Most cats are simply domestic cats without specific breed ancestry.

It's ok, lots of people use the term "mix" to describe cats that aren't any particular breed... it's just a bit of a misnomer for most cats :)

I'm wondering what color your husband thinks she is, and what color you think she is!

Well we have been debating lilac vs blue. Or if that’s two different terms of the same color.

A prettie. She has darkened quite a some on her body. Which is natural, they do, but still... I wonder, if she used to go outside when its cold?

Could she possibly be a tonkinese?

Also, why can't she be a traditional Siamese?

Tonkinese are moderate type cats that aren't extreme in any way. So sure, any shorthaired pointed cat with moderate type could *possibly* be a Tonkinese. However it is not *likely* for any specific cat to be a Tonkinese, as this breed is rare.

Likewise, pretty much any shorthaired pointed cat could *possibly* be a traditional Siamese, because there are some lines of "traditional Siamese" that don't have the distinctive head and body type of either the modern or old-style Siamese breed. (Some of these lines are purebred Siamese that just haven't been bred to a show standard, although there have also been breeders of "traditional Siamese" that were basically breeding pointed domestic shorthairs.) However, it is not *likely* for any specific pointed cat to be a traditional Siamese. Most pointed shorthairs are simply pointed domestic shorthairs.

your actually correct, so when she was a year old she was one of the catch fix and release strays in a colony of feral cats. When they caught her she was fixed and the ear clipped. She has also dots tattooed on her ear I figured that’s an identifier possibly for her colony maybe. She didn’t have the feral personality she’s like a giant teddy bear so she was rehabilitated but unable to be house broken, so she lived that lifespan in and out of a a kennel due to adoption process and return process.

we heard her story being pet less at the time, and she has become a wonderful, indoor and outdoor kitty (we rescued her from her life of confinement). We do both because she loves the blankets and cuddles but cannot be potty trained for whatever stubborn reasoning she has and it’s given her a much better quality of life.

She has some behavioral issues also being a previous stray or abandoned cat. Although my entire family is friendly and calm I am the only person in the house she likes and she will follow me endlessly and devotedly but will not have anything to do with anyone. Even outside she won’t leave my back yard because I have to be within her eye vision.

I don’t find this a behavior issue I love it personally but others could see it that way I’m sure.
