The objective of this thread is to read and discuss one book a month .

The chosen book will be announced within the first week of the previous month ie November book announced at the beginning of October thus giving plenty of time for interested parties to obtain a copy.

Book to be read within 1st to 21st of the month and discussion from 22nd to 28th of the month.

If a chosen book does not appeal to you, opt out and hopefully the following months choice will be to your taste.

The book for October is :-
All She Ever Wanted by Lynn Austin.

All She Ever Wanted by Lynn Austin

Happy reading.

I've never been in a book club either. So we're all newbies at this. :)

However, since the "reading" part is from Oct 1 to Oct 21, that we should limit discussion, till Oct 22, when everyone reading the book should be done. Then we could post our review / thoughts on the book.

And for books that have questions at the end of them, we could post the questions and answer those. Or post our own questions and discuss.

I'd just like to say that I've been in a couple of clubs and usually it's a good idea to have questions organised to guide people. There are some good ideas here: Book Club Discussion Questions

We usually finish by giving it a score out of 10. Keep in mind that 10 is an extraordinarily good book! I made the mistake of scoring too high initially and it left me nowhere to go.

mani mani : thanks for the suggestion/guidance. Though we're all readers, we're newbies in this book club thing. :read:

Should the questions be posted before the read? Or after?

I am still thinking about it, but if it starts in Oct. I should make up my mind soon!
Yes, you should. And I think you should join "us" in our October read. :)

And by "us" I may not be including myself, because I am unfortunately going to have to start reading it right away, as I just checked and someone is now on the library wait list for the book. And as I'm a slow reader, and my loan expires in 16 days, I'm going to need every one of those 16 days to finish it. :sigh:

A book club, what a great idea! I won't be participating for October since I have two books to finish, but would love to join in later. I've always wanted to be in a book club!
Sounds good. The more the merrier. :) Maybe post in the Book Club Anyone? and let us know the type of books you like to read, and any suggestions for future months that you might have.
