I use mainly Turkey and Giblets. Also occasionally Poultry Platter and Mixed Grill, but Mixed Grill costs more on Chewy and Amazon for some reason, and they don't like Poultry Platter as much. The only other pate flavor available in the 13-oz can is Ocean Whitefish, and I try to minimize fish (although the other flavors have fish in them too, except Mixed Grill).

I get all 4 kinds of the pate but only serve the Ocean Whitefish once a week. Oddly they aren't as fond of the fish as they are the others. The others I rotate. And although it's more like an ice cream fro cats every other night they get a Friskies lil soup. I make sure they get plenty of nutritious meals though in addition to the occasional treat I just mentioned.

Today I tried Friskies again with both kitties. Eevee gobbled up her food as usual since she's not picky. Today Fluffy actually enjoyed the Turkey and Giblets Pate, so I think I found a winner to put in rotation as far as price goes.

I have 3 cans 13oz Friskies left. Then will try to afford for our feral----ONLY the Organix Chick Pate Grain free recipe. Feel bad as our indoor gets RadCat leftover yet in backup freezer. Feral, he slums it & is so dedicated morn & nite & awaits at 6am & 6pm under my patio 2nd flr for his chow. :) What a beauty & a doll for a big male tom.

ANyways, will buy at price match in Petsmart/Chewys (both now same owner companys) tomorrow 2 cases --48 cans total--of the aformentioned cans of Organix Organic recipe grain free-- Chicken. wish me luck as bank acct needs luck! :)

I think, call me nuts, but karma will come back some how as struggling to pay it for him rather than junk food ---& thus it'll be rewarded someway somehow down rd of life or in afterlife. Gotta believe it or I'd spend the $ on ME! ;)

Hahaha, j/k..no I'm serious...:)

Not sure I'm going to continue feeding Friskies, my cats are starting to scratch themselves more and there has been a bit of eye discharge from my cats that never had any.

It also seems like they're shedding more but I'm not really sure.

I should mention that I'm not feeding the pates because the meat comes after the by products and have carragenan. Maybe the pates would be a better choice.

I used to feed friskies. I don't anymore but in a pinch would grab a can. however looking at ingredients, I would avoid the dry friskies for sure

Yes, the pates are better. I have one who will only eat the shreds and her coat isn't very nice. But she's 19 so she gets what she wants. The cats who eat the pates have much nicer coats.

I might have to remove friskies from the rotation, which is making my wallet sad. One of the kitties has a scabby red chin that she's never gotten before on her other foods... I guess it could just be one flavor, or even something else like her litter (I switch around depending on what's on sale). But friskies will have to go first, I think, to see if it clears up.

Decided to switch to the Poultry platter Pate after my last post, my cats seem to be back to normal. Seems like the problems were due to the wheat, corn, soy, or mix. I'm going to stick to the pates for a while and see what happens.

Friskies is fine if you need to be on a budget. There is no shame in doing what you can afford! But I want to mention a lot of the cheaper brands have fish in all their cans. Plus their phosphorus is always higher which is more of an issue for oldish cats since they're higher risk for kidney issues.
