I'm rereading Watchers by Dean Koontz.
Dean Koontz is probably my favorite horror writer, mostly because all of his "monsters" have some basis, no matter how tenuous, in fact. One of those, "Well, if EVERY thing went just right (or "just wrong"), it might happen.

I always did this too but decreased this year after I read a book review on Goodreads by an elderly lady that still makes me laugh to this date:

"Life is too short to read this."
LOL, I love that. I'm on Goodreads, as well! Wish I had seen that one!

I'm currently reading Mary Stewart's "Rose Cottage." I just finished her "Thornyhold." I have, of course, read them both before, decades ago. This is a journey of rediscovery for me. Once I finish "Rose Cottage," I'll be moving on to the next cozy mystery series. A shorter one, this time.

I'm not a big Nora Roberts fan by any stretch, but I do like her books as J.D. Robb.
I feel the same way. I’ve read all of the J.D. Robb books, and I’m waiting for the most recent one, Vendetta in Death. I’m #36 on 80 copies. :)

I just finished season 4 of Poldark on PBS and am waiting for season 5 which starts at the end of the month. While I’m waiting, I’ve checked out the first of the books on which the series is based. “Ross Poldark” was written in 1945. So far, it’s very similar to the show.

I’m reading “Killing Commendatore” by Haruki Murakami. I love his work— the other funny thing is that he’s a total cat person so all of his books and stories at least involve a cat, if not have one as a major plot device!

This one’s great so far and centers on an artist, so I have the awkward problem that I read two pages and then want to paint! Hahaha.

Are you an artist as well?

Never heard of that author before, but love that he's a cat person. Must check out his books.

Welcome to books & reading thread, btw, S Skippyandjif . And do check out our Book Of The Month Club - October 2019 thread and consider joining us.

I've just started reading the "Cook Book Nook" cozy mystery series by Daryl Wood Gerber. I have to tell you, this series is pushing ALL of my "GOOD" buttons! There are books, there are recipes, there's a hint of the supernatural, and there's an ADORABLE stray kitten who gets promptly adopted by Our Heroine! What's not to like? OH...And I haven't figured out Whodunit yet!

I just finished the third Poldark book by Winston Graham and am on the wait list for the fourth. I’ve seen the first four series on Masterpiece on PBS, and I’m amazed at how closely they’ve followed the books. It’s fun to read the books and picture the characters from the show. I read that Graham’s daughter feels that he would have liked how they’d brought his story to life. Apparently he was not happy with the series that was done in the ‘70s.

Just checked, and my library doesn't have "The Water Dancer", the new Oprah book club selection yet, but it's just being released today, so they'll probably get it soon. Wonder if Oprah still has the power to sell a product? If so, hope the publisher has the ability to keep up with the demand.

I finished Ava Comes Home by Lesley Crewe last night. It was an ok read, but I thought it was a bit unrealistic, especially the ending.

Since my library loan of our Book Of The Month Club - October 2019 book expires in 13 days, and I can't renew it right away as someone else is waiting to borrow it, I better focus on reading it now. :read:
