I don't think I told you guys this part yet, but I was dangerously low in Potassium, that's the main reason I had to be hospitalized. They pumped me full of bags of Potassium through my IV and I got some Potassium pills to take home. I think that's what caused the swelling maybe?

I also had to get another enema, but this time they did a colonoscopy with it. That was so hard, but I was able to do it because I wasn't high on Morphine. When I first got there and they put that plastic tube in my nose again, I knew I would have to give it all I got to get out of there. I had to wear the nose tube constantly. But I finally got used to it and stopped gagging on it when I realized you don't have to swallow, it takes all the spit out of your mouth. (Gross I know)

A lot of it was like torture. That's when I started whispering stuff to the nurses about my mom and her not letting me get well. I whispered to whoever would listen, then it filtered back to my doctor. I was surprised to be believed instantly. Someone who comes from abuse and neglect doesn't expect that. By the time my mom came back, they had completely iced her out of my medical affairs. She looked so sad, but still it had to be done.

The only way to stop abuse is to end the cycle. Whatever it takes. My mom was in an extremely abusive marriage (not daddy) so I know this is easier said than done. But you are on the right path. Just keep it up, we are here for you.

YES. It did. And you can still love someone very much but not love the things that are detrimental to you -- and to them.

Those that drink Ensure, or your relatives did, how many do you drink per day?
My doc wants me to drink 9oz per day. So that's one 8oz bottle plus 1oz, so I have to open another bottle? That's weird.

The 9 oz is probably based on your height/weight, maybe even age, and your current nutritional needs.

Per the Ensure website, opened products should be refrigerated after 4 hours, and discarded after 48 hours.

Once opened, how long can Ensure products be kept out at room temperature? In the refrigerator?
Once a bottle of Ensure ready-to-drink shakes and drinks have been opened, it should be used or refrigerated within four hours. The remaining product should be used or discarded after 48 hours.

On my discharge papers it says that I have to get lab work on Wednesday. What does that mean? Will they take more blood? I wish they would give me a week to feel better.

Go according to your doctors orders. It cannot hurt to drink a bit more.

It is based on your height, weight and nutritional needs.

Yes keep it refrigerated.

As far as blood draw. Make sure you are hydrated the day before an the day of. Being dehydrated makes it harder and more painful for the blood draw.

They want to make sure you are improving. That is why the lab test is ordered.
