I have had Molly most of her life (I adopted her when she was 9 months old from Purrfect Cat Rescue). She's 7 years old now.

But it never fails - she always "helps" me make my bed. And I don't know why.

She seems to know when the clean sheets come out of of dryer & hightails it to the bedroom, jumping on the bed & "helping me" put the clean sheets on the bed.

Well, she doesn't help me - she thinks it's play time. Purring her head off, she jumps on the sheets, grabs an end, gets in the way.

I'm quite amazed - she always know when the clean sheets come out of the dryer - no matter the time of day or day of the week. It never fails.

I get a good laugh at her antics & I'm always shocked at how she knows - the sheets are dry, the bed will be made - it's play time!

Me too!

And I still don't know how she figured this out. She's always acted this way - "helping" me make the bed.

I can count on one hand the number of times Koshka hasn’t been present when I make the bed. In her case, I believe it is that occasionally a piece of down comes out when snapping the duvet. Whatever the reason, she will hightail it from wherever she was to be there. She also takes an unusual interest in the sheets being removed for washing too though.

All of my cats have done it, including Willow. My former cat though was the most enthusiastic. She loved for me to make the top sheet billow up as I laid it down so she could leap on top and flatten it. I would have to do this a dozen times before she (and I) tired out and I could finish making the bed.

I have had cats who would scramble to get under the sheet! First the bottom one. Then after clearing them out, then under the top sheet when I put it on. They didn't care about getting under the blanket.

Poppycat loves for me to fill the the bottom fitted sheet with air so it's all billowy, and he gets under it, like he's in a slowly collapsing cave as the air gradually seeps away

Mine does this too. Not so much "help," but roll around furiously on the clean sheet. Then when I tuck in the corners she'll run over and start punching my hands...sigh. Why, Smo???

On the flip side, my *barely* former ferals *hate* when I wash / change sheets. They associate any large piece of cloth (bath towel, blanket, comforter) with being trapped for trips to the vet.

But once the bed is made and smells fresh? All 4 need to find/reclaim their corners!
