Will you be bringing Fayola home?
Yes, once they are done treating her. They told me that I could put her back outside but I see no reason to do that. She's called "Sweet Girl" for a reason.

I'm just not sure I can manage another pet financially. It would be irresponsible to take her on permanently if I'm not able to provide emergency veterinary care in the future.

Maybe you can start a Facebook page for Fayola and see if she can get a fanbase started. One of my favorite "celebs" is Atlas of My Friendly Ferals although Beetle is absolutely adorable; Karrot Kake of the Kolony Kats is another popular kitty!

Like an instagram page for Fayola? Would this be for raising money for her?

I had a facebook account but facebook disabled it for some reason. No idea why. I tried everything to get back into it but they won't let me. I don't even think I can make another one because my email is still in use... :ohwell:

Honestly, I just need someone who understands cats who come from outside and their temperament. Someone who is patient and willing accept her for who she is. She's honestly really sweet. You just have to watch her body language and you can tell when she's had enough socialization time.

You have been remarkable throughout this, you really have been! And now you also know what a GOOD rescue is and does for the cats in its foster system! You had a bad start, but this ending is SO HOPEFUL and positive. Thank you for hanging in there, Darlin. "Ya done good."

You're doing a wonderful job Graceful-Lily Graceful-Lily I'm so glad to hear the Fayola and her kittens got the help they needed.

:heartshape::heartshape::heartshape::heartshape:

Would the original rescue allow you to foster her long term and help with food and vet bills?

I don't now how instagram works, but that might be another way of raising money for her.
Thank you! I'm glad I listened to my gut (and everyone's advice) and continued to look for help. I just knew she was really sick. Things were just not right and the vet today confirmed my suspicion.

I'm not sure if they help with food. Vet bills are usually only for emergencies or when really needed. These rescues are low on funds and exhausted so they usually ask people to provide food for the cats.

We'll see how sick she is first and take it from there. Most likely, she'll just end up staying here with me. She did try to rub on Felix so I think there is potential for a friendship.

Yesterday, I called the clinic first thing in the morning to see how Fayola was doing and they told me that she ate a little bit so they are very pleased. They did blood work but no one has told me what is wrong with her.

Called back again today and no one can tell me what's going on. They just said she is eating and using the litterbox but then the lady from the rescue said she is being treated for something? They're going to spay her soon and release her back to me. So, she'll probably be home by Wednesday or Thursday.

She's been spayed and had her bad tooth pulled so she literally has one tooth left. The canine on her right side. They were going to clip her ear and I told them not to. I told them putting her back outside is not an option. So, they want me to assess her behaviour for adoption. But I want to see if she can get along well in our home. If she can, I'd like to keep her.

The kittens are doing great in their new foster home. They are a week old today. Time goes by so quickly.

Nevermind, all her teeth were removed. She was vaccinated, dewormed, and possibly going to be microchipped.

When can you bring her home?
She should be ready to come home by tomorrow. Great for me because my class finishes early.

They asked me what I want to do and I told them that I'm not sure. I would love for her to find a forever and loving home but the thought of giving her up makes me cry. I feel attached to her in the same way I am attached to Felix. I feel like she needs me more than ever now because she lost her babies, lost her remaining teeth, and also her uterus. She must be so confused and terrified with all those strangers around her. I told the rescue, "If I plan on keeping her, I will make a donation to you." Because I know it couldn't have been cheap fixing her up but their adoption fee for senior cats is only $80.

Is this wrong?

Yes, that is what I meant. I feel guilty for having them pay for everything since they depend so heavily on donations from the community/public.

But she needed the help and she still needs some rehabilitation to be properly integrated into family life. That shouldn't take too long any way because she's not completely feral and she's only about 40% semi-feral I'd say. She loves to sleep on your bed and curl up with you just as much as any cat living exclusively indoors.
