These pictures were taken about 10 minutes apart from each other. The only difference is the first picture was taken in direct sunlight, the second was taken in indirect sunlight. Are her eyes green or yellow?
It's crazy how different her eyes look in different light! From what I can tell, the outsides of her iris are yellow, while the insides are green. I am guessing this is why they seem to change depending on the lighting conditions. I am just not sure what I should call them Green or Yellow...Lol, I can't say, my boys eye color can change from green to sort of bronze
We love everything about her. Funny story... I went to the shelter because they had a stunning calico kitten there that I wanted to bring home. (I should still have the picture I took of her... ah here it is!)My cats eyes also chande green to bronze. Sometimes her fur is grey sometimes bronze
Love your cat's eye color. Its much lighter.
Thank You, It's amazing what some good (late blooming) genes, a LOT of love and good food will do.WOW, what a gorgeous cat!!
Ummm, pale yellow?

Thing is, though this cat was BEAUTIFUL... we were oil and water. She didn't want anything to do with me... Still I put in the application... however (and I am SO GLAD) someone else was chosen.
I came back the next day to take a look at the other kittens and right away this little kitten starts meowing, purring and poking her little paw out from the cage. I'm pretty sure she had been overlooked MANY times as she was scrawny, disheveled and cross-eyed... but... something about her tugged at my heart-strings and we spent a good 30 minutes playing and cuddling in the visiting room...

...and the rest is history. Even the shelter knew we were meant for each other, and sent her home with me that day.
Now she is almost 7 months old and if you look REALLY closely... you can still see that little waif of a kitten...

That first picture you mentioned was the day we brought her home. I think she might have been a bit overwhelmed. It doesn't help that she has resting concerned face. The markings above her left eye give the impression of a concerned or worried expression at certain angles. She looks so insecure and worried in the 1st photo...
Completely transformed into a confident, well loved kitty !
Good for you !!!
Not to derail from your principal interest, Sararainmaler....just to offer that it may not be the calories, but perhaps where those calories are coming from. Carbohydrates create pudge.....meat protein and fat won't (especially in a still-growing kitten). A trip to the Nutrition forum might help sort that out.She does love her food though, and is getting a bit of pudge. We moved her to a food with less calories, as the duck was making her chonk!

There is at least one rescue/shelter I'm aware of where the cats hop right on and use it, and just love their big wheelI can't imagine that being a natural thing for cats to do.
If any cat would, it would probably be Kaylee... She has played with every toy we have gotten her, used her cat tree and hideaway box... and played with pretty much everything that ISN'T a toy... like DMV paperwork and phone charging cords - we are still working on teaching what is and isn't a toy. Maybe if she gets a wheel and uses it, it'll inspire us to use our gazelle! There is at least one rescue/shelter I'm aware of where the cats hop right on and use it, and just love their big wheel
It's been too hot here the past couple months, but she does love to go out. I am just waiting for it to cool down a bit so we can go againEeesh!
I apologise if this has been mentioned already, but can you take her for walks, if you aren't already? This is such a good thing to do if at all possible, not only for the physical exercise but also for her mind
