I had no idea you weren't eating. I knew your tooth was in bad shape, and I was worried about you. I'm soooo glad they were able to save you.
It's my own fault my teeth were rotting out of my head. My doc & nurses really had an impact on me. They taught me personal responsibility. They said we will give you all the tools you need to change your life, but I have to do it. :redheartpump:

I believe that you can. It won't be easy, but you'll find your inner strength and take it one day at a time. :catlove: and Maggie and Demi will help you.

And you WILL, girlfriend. You have two sweet little souls whose love and loyalty are unconditional, and you'll do it for THEM and for YOU.
Been there and done that on a lot of stuff on this subject and when you hit the wall, it's decision time. I know mine. Sounds like you know yours, too. :yess:Don't let anyone tell you different. Just keep focused and take good care of YOU. You've got every reason in the world to do so.

Maggie & Demi are pretending not to know me! They keep peeking in my bedroom door. Silly kitties. ;)

My doc just called. I have to meet with my case worker by Tuesday or I'm in big trouble. Boy, they don't fool around do they? I need to get a primary care doctor and see if I need antibiotics. I can do this. I think? I hope....2 days? I just got home. Prayers please. I don't really understand medical stuff, but it's probably to keep me alive.

ABSOLUTELY. Anything involving the digestive system especially must be closely monitored because infection is a SERIOUS concern. That's why the antibiotics. And yes, I know it's asking a lot, but they've got their priorities, which are, let's get real, financial first of all, but also to do with restoring you to health, and there is no waiting on that. Do what you've got to do. Push yourself on that subject. Because you need to get through this and they need to help you to do that. I had to get up for an operation at like 3 or 4 in the morning, and follow the pre-op instructions to the letter in order to get the operation. I knew I had no alternative that was workable for me. I hate doctors and hospitals and getting up at 3 or 4 but I did it. You're going to do this, too. It's going to be a hard road up ahead, and you're going to travel it, because you need to. NO doubt about it.

Listen to doc! I'm surprised they didn't send you home with antibiotics but get to a doc quickly.

So glad you're back! Praying for you!!:welcomeback1::hugs:

Thank you! I will.

I'm having a really hard time because my parents' house is really old and the bathroom is hard for me to navigate with staples down my whole stomach. Anybody got any ideas or experience with staples?
I have had stomach staples, belly button all the way down a couple of times. I had to go in around ten days post surgery to have them pulled out. That actually hurts less than the old stitches did. Can’t remember exactly but I got some sort of tape or pad to cover the incision for another week or two.

Definitely meet with your caseworker--they're really important people. Medical social workers will be able to look at your situation and get you the help you need based on your needs. There is this concept called person-in-environment which is exactly what it sounds like--it gives the social worker a really good idea of what's going on and how they can help. Social work is all about making sure that a client has all the help they need for any given situation. Above all, BE HONEST with them. They can't help you if they don't know what you need help with in the first place. :hug

So Glad to finally hear from you. We have all been worried..

Yes, you CAN do this.. all of us here will help you! I firmly believe that.

This is going to be the hardest thing you have ever done, but you CAN get through this. You are strong. It will take a ton of work. We love you and care about you.. Just think of those 2 little furbabies who have been missing you..They need you! They love you.. they are probably just peeking in, because you have been missing for so long, and you must smell a lot like the hospital. They will come around.

Please, Please, do NOT ignore the case worker! They are there to help guide you along. Yes, get a PCP!! Perhaps the case worker can help find you one.. or the doctors in the hospital? There must be a contact person for you..

You do need medical surveillance and antibiotics for the incision and guidance for your future.. You can do it.. I believe in you. Please take all the help they provide..

Remember, there is always someone on line, for you to talk to.

As far as the bathroom.. Is there an extra pillow clean, with a clean pillowcase; which, you can hug while getting up and down from the toilet? It may help.. Can you hold onto the sink?

Just a couple of ideas.

((((hugs)))) and love...

M maggiedemi listen to your online mothers here. They know what they are talking about. Vent here. Tell us what's going on. Yes the pillow idea was one they gave me for my stomach surgery 10 years ago...also kitchen chair was by the comode for me as well. It was cramped but it was only way to keep from straining to stand up. Remember no pushing, pulling or lifting for at least 6 weeks!!!!!

Walking is your best friend right now. 10 minutes every 2 hours. You don't want blood clots. Rest laying down for the rest of time. But short very short walks are good. Helps with digestion and helps keep your energy levels up. Not talking about an hour marathon. It's just a few walks around the house upright then back in bed with plenty of water to drink.

Did they send you home with this breather thing to make sure your lungs expand fully? I forgot the name of it but the idea is this cuts down on lung blood clots from laying down. Basically has you blow into this thing so many times a minute. Make sure practice deep breathing this will aid in not getting blood clots in your lungs etc from laying down so long.

I am glad we have been in contact M maggiedemi .you do know you are loved, right? :welcomeback1:

Just texting friends, working on a puzzle (suprise!), watching Heartland on Netflix, and watching Honeybee sleep the afternoon away. Back to the grind tomorrow. It's raining so I don't have to work in the garden...finally...

I'll take a walk around the house and see what I can find. My parents are hoarders so I might find something. I don't think I'm supposed to go down cellar yet. Another story- the ambulance couldn't get inside to get me on the gurney because of their hoarding! They had to walk me out while I was screaming for Morphine. I didn't even know what that was, but I know my ex used it for pain.
Morphine is heavy-duty opioid analgesic. It's about the most powerful there is. It's also very addictive, but when you need it, you need it.
Uh, no, I wouldn't even THINK about cellars. Just any kind of sturdy chair, like a kitchen chair, would do fine. turn it facing you and you can rest your upper arms on the top of the back of it and pull yourself up slowly.

I'm so tall though, 5'9. Today I'm supposed to meet with my caseworker or call her, but my mom won't give me my folder. I had to email my brother and see if he can get the name out of her. She doesn't want me to get a medical bed, but I need it to get better. She said there is no room. This is a huge old house, but she is a hoarder and would rather have her boxes of junk than get me a bed. Today is the last day to talk to Medicaid or I'm in trouble.

Yes! They actually gave me this, it's blue. But I gotta wash it, it probably has plenty of germs on it from the hospital.

M maggiedemi How are things going, today?
Hoping you had a better day.. and the kitties are coming around to cuddling you with love...
I scare Demi a lot. He doesn't know why his mama tries to jack herself out of bed with a cane that looks like it's for a child. I'm very tall, but that's all my mom said she could find at Walmart. I gave her $50, but I can't use this cane.

Yeah, I think that's why I had trouble following the doctors orders. Everybody told me I was screaming for morphine, so they put it in my chart that I could have it. I've never taken anything stronger than a Tylenol before. I need to put in my chart, no more morphine, I can't follow orders on it.
