Yesterday was hot and humid with storms but this morning seems much cooler.
I'm looking forward to fall, crisp mornings and low humidity days.

I second that!

I'm looking forward to meeting a special friend today that I worked with over 10 years ago. One of the best things about teaching is meeting so many wonderful and caring teachers. :heartshape:

It's supposed to be very hot and humid today which I hate but I have huge tomatoes so I can have sandwiches, also amazing peaches. I needed a snack around 1:00am so I came down and ate a peach over the sink. It was huge and hit the spot.

I had a few tomato sandwiches yesterday and plan on having more today. I wish I had a greenhouse so I could have them all year long. I have good hard copy books to read outside and I'm reading a good EBook on my tablet. Trying to get some laundry dried before it gets too hot. I think I'll have a tomato sammie on toast with mayo for brekkie.

Do you have a patio or balcony where you could grow tomatoes in a pot? There's nothing like the taste of homegrown tomatoes. :yummy:

I had to stop at the vet this afternoon to pick up a med. for Carleton. One of the people in the waiting room had just rescued a 5 1/2 month old kitten who weighs less than 3 lbs. He rescued his sister too but she weighs 3.5 lbs. He was the cutest little guy and had the loudest meow for such a tiny kitten. :lovecat2: I know the kitten found his forever home and will be well cared for along with his sister.

You remind me of me when I was young. All I did in the summer was eat tomato sandwiches and read mystery books. LOL.

Here she is - settling in nicely. And she gets along with Felix so she's sure to get adopted quickly.
Are you sure you don't want a permanent new friend for Felix? ;) They look so cute together.

The temps finally cooled off today so I turned off the a/c and opened the windows. I love being able to open the windows and get fresh air. Carleton likes it much better too!

I wish but I don't know if I could handle another dog and although I'm fostering, the rescue makes you go through the whole adoption process as if you are a stranger. I feel like they'd deny me.

Fresh breeze through windows is the best! :tree:

My remaining mortgage balance is just under 6 figures now :woohoo: I think I can pay off the mortgage within a few years. Not bad considering I refinanced 3 years ago from a 30 year (which I was 6 years into) to a 15 year.

Fayola allowed me to kiss her today!! I'm so happy! :hyper::cheerleader::clap:

It's been 4 weeks since we've had her and she's been super shy from the start but she's now coming out whenever we enter the room. She also isn't afraid to use the litter box or eat in our presence.

Two nights ago, she scratched at the bedside while I was sleeping and hopped up on the bed.

I really love her - I call her 'sweet girl' because when I first captured her, that is what she started purring to first, when I called her 'sweet' and 'beautiful'.

Back-to-back art fairs this weekend and since the weather was beautiful we spent most of the day outdoors. I wore one of my cat rescue tee shirts and got a lot of thumbs up.

Been having a rough few days but I realize how lucky I am to have had my Vincie girl for 19 years. She was such a joy! I feel close to her when I am on the deck reading. :rbheart::bigeyes:
You were both lucky to have found each other. :hugs: Even though Vince Girl has gone to the bridge her presence on the deck is a comfort and reassuring feeling.

I'm nursing a migraine from the change in weather right now but have plans to meet my cousin in the afternoon. He moved back from WA last year so it's nice to have him closer to home. :)

Sorry about that migraine. Nice that your cousin moved back. Enjoy your time with him today.
