Okay, it's been just over 2 weeks since I have consistently been giving Fluffy wet food every day.
I currently feed her 1/2 can of Fancy Feast pates twice daily along with still giving her 1/4 cup of dry food during each meal times.
I really want to cut down her dry food even more, but she seems picky some days with the wet food and it mostly seems to be because of certain flavors I give to her.
She'll chow down on the fish ones, especially Seafood Feast. Then I'll give her Chopped Grilled Feast one day and she'll only pick at it and leave most of it. Like yesterday, I fed her the grilled one and she lapped up the moisture of it, then sat there meowing an hour later wanting as if she wanted to be fed again. So I crumbled a couple of her Temptations treats over the wet food and she willingly ate the majority of the wet food at that point.

I'm sure giving her the dry food still twice daily doesn't help with her possibly wanting more of the wet food. It has been more convenient to give her 1/4 cup of dry early in the morning as she tends to wake my boyfriend up to be fed, so he doesn't have to really think about going out to the kitchen since we keep her dry food in a container in our room. :p

Any suggestions? I want to make sure she's getting enough to eat even if I try cutting out that second cup of dry food in the evening. I wish I could find a smaller measuring cup to use for the dry food feedings.
I thought about possibly getting Friskies wet food, mostly to try cutting down the cost because of having 2 cats.

I can tell what I do currently with my picky eater. She loves chicken and turkey more than anything but she also refuses to eat more than one can if it's the same food. Currently I give her Pro Plan Delicate canned food with turkey half of the can in the morning, the other half in the noon, and Naturea chicken half in the evening and half at night. Four portion a day in total. There is always a little dry food in her bowl but she only eats some at night if she will.

Also for the cost. Purina Gourmet Gold pate (which is similar to Fancy Feast) let's say the turkey one is 4% turkey, Purina Pro Plan Delicate canned food pate is 14% turkey. The price is actually the same almost but for a 4kg cat Gourmet Gold is recommended 4 cans a day but Pro Plan Delicate 2-3 cans a day. That would make Pro Plan one cost cheaper even if it was more expensive. Some wet foods for senior cats are also dense in calories and you may not need to give more than 1-2 a day for enough nutrition. For hydration you can always add a little more water especially if you can split the portions to more than 2.

Hi. I can't really help with any food recommendations. But, I have been looking for a 1/8 cup measuring utensil as well. The only way I found to buy one is to purchase an entire set of cups and spoons - until I searched on Amazon and found this set of two 1/8 cups (link below).

She's almost 12, like October-ish I believe she was born. Although she was found abandoned in a shed/garage towards the end of November, so we were never sure how old in weeks she was exactly back then.

She was always picky about wet food, never cared for it until recently when we got the kitten. Fluffy was always only eating dry food.

Yea, Fluffy definitely sleeps a lot throughout the day! She's not very active/playful. Only very slightly for a couple minutes when I bring out the laser light, otherwise she just stares at the toys I try to get her to play with.

Sometimes, or even random times during the day whenever she's awake long enough. Not sure if loneliness since we have a kitten in the house now, although we keep Eevee outta our room because she's so crazy active and likes to jump in my face when I'm laying down....that's a whole other story right there haha!
Fluffy has learned to coexist with Eevee. The kitten is so crazy playful that she tries so hard to play with Fluffy, but Fluffy does not tolerate it well, especially when Eevee starts to play bite. Eh...what else to do aside from separate the kitties, right? No major cat fights at least, I'm still waiting for Fluffy to just bop her one and show her who's boss :p

I'd suggest bigger variety, finding some more brands&flavours that she really likes and rotating them. It will be trial and error till you found the best cans. I currently have around 10 flavours that both my cats would eat every time, but it took many months to establish it.

I'll have to see what else is available at the Acme in town (pricey sometimes for being a small town with everything else 20+ minutes away) and then Walmart is 20 minutes away. Petsmart and other stores are even further, so it really comes down to what is most affordable and available.

I think Fluffy is understanding more that I'm not going to give in to giving her more dry food, so she'll just take her time with eating each portion of wet food I give her over a span of 2-3 hours unless it's a flavor she REALLY enjoys and it'll be gone in less than an hour.

Found out yesterday that our Acme does have a small variety of Blue Buffalo and a couple others I can't quite remember. I may just look out for sales of those other brands there and get a couple to try then because otherwise everything there is quite pricey. Seems like Walmart may not have some of those other brands, all I mostly see is Fancy Feast, Friskies, 9Lives, and Walmart's Special Kitty.....unless that store just sucks in general and maybe I'll check out the Super Walmart next time we go.
