On Amazon Smile, there are tons of charity groups that we can 'donate' to, by using that "Amazon Smile" charity list instead of 'plain' amazon. Some portion of the money we spend on Amazon then goes towards that cause.

I notice there are TONS of animal causes listed on Amazon,
and I was thinking of switching from "Doctors without Borders" (which I had chosen as I have helped with post-disaster relief efforts)
to an animal supporting cause instead. :lovecat4: In part, because of becoming a member of TCS here, has me even MORE focused on animals.:happycat:

so I was thinking, that instead of supporting my local Florida :cool2::sunshine:animal helping groups (which i already do contribute to several times a year)
that I would switch my "Amazon Smile" to support a northern, 'cold climate' animal helping group,
to help those poor animals dealing with those freezing climates :help:
that i know so well from previous years.

sorry if this is a repeat topic? i am fairly new to TCS.
WHICH if any, CHARITY GROUP on Amazon SMILE
do you support or recommend?

I support Hearts United for Animals. I've used their low-cost spay/neuter program, and they accepted some puppies I found, so it's only fair :D.

Through Amazon Smile I support a local organization that takes abused, neglected and/or hoarded farm animals and pets (dogs, cats and rabbits) from other rescue organizations in Oregon and Northern California or from law enforcement. Through Fred Meyer grocery store, I support a local cat rescue. And I give both money directly as well because the funds passed through Amazon and Fred Meyer are so very small.

Many charities have wish lists on Amazon, too, so you can buy items off the list and have it sent directly to the charity.

Here's the Amazon Smile list of charities with wish lists:AmazonSmile Charity Lists

Some charities may only have a wish list on regular Amazon. There isn't a way to search for a charity's wish list on Amazon. There may be a direct link to an Amazon wish list on the charity's web site. Then you just click on the "Remember" button on the wish list page to add the charity to your Amazon list of wish lists so you can go back to it at any time.

I support the non-profit cat shelter that I work at. I know the money goes to good use.

I don't shop on Amazon but support a variety of charities, e.g. 3 local animal shelters, an organization committed to training companion dogs for the blind, a children's charity and an organization that supports research for a life threatening autoimmune illness.

Just remember to log into Amazon using the smile.amazon.com link so that your charity gets a donation. Good idea to update your browser bookmark :) The main page has Amazon Smile in the top right corner and under the search box it lists your charity. If you don't see the Amazon Smile logo, you're using the regular Amazon site and your charity won't get a donation. You'll have to log off and then go to smile.amazon.com and log in.
