4 year old male has been missing for about 12 hours.
I have a deck on the back of the house, and I'll take him out on the deck daily multiple times. He just lays out there, sunbathes, sits in the chairs, hangs out... He's been doing this for about 3 years. I have a fence up at the steps and usually never leave him out there alone, but today I went inside for 3-5 minutes while he was sleeping in the chair and when I went out he was gone.

I live in a suburban county, trees, bushes, etc... Woods but they're very far away from me probably 20+ houses
So, went up and down the surrounding houses looking in/under/up on everything and no signs.

My brother brought over him German Sheppard and had him smell and try to "Track him" didn't work

I've done everything the internet says, I left wet food out, put out his blankets, some of my t-shirts, etc

Obviously I'm reading all the success stories about cats coming back. He's been outside on this deck probably 2000 times, so he SHOULD be super familiar with it right?

I'm going to go back out at night with a flashlight and his treats bag I guess, but any other suggestions?

If he is microchipped, get a flyer with his picture and chip number to all the local vets and rescues. Check the nextdoor.com website for your area, check Facebook for lost and found groups, and put up flyers with his photo within a mile of your house (not the microchip number on this one). Change flyers every other day using a different photo in a different position to catch the eye of people in the area. Also call whatever company the microchip is registered in and verify the information is current; then call back to verify the information again (I know of at least one person who called and the agent deleted their information instead of saving an update).

Hopefully he will be back soon, Dawn and dusk are the best times to look. Most cats will be close by but hiding so check bushes, ask neighbors to check their garage and if any houses have crawl spaces that are uncovered you may want to poke a flashlight under there. My guys was gone for four days before coming home and my niece's cat was missing for a month the before coming home.

He’s definitely microchipped
I called the vet and she said she activated the “alert” on his profile

Where do you think?
Have you heard of the kitty convict program? It is for indoor cats who get out. There are orange collars that say something like if I am outside I am lost. Might be worth looking into.

He's BACK!
Came home and he was on the deck staring into the kitchen

His days of being a deck-cat are numbered, unless under supervision like you give an infant
Yay!!! Thank goodness he is home again.
