Problems After Spaying. Please Advice.

i just spayed my cat and got my cat home. While she is recovering from anesthesia she urinated which got all over her body. All her body got wet. I am afraid her incision will get infected. The incision is bandaged. Should I be worried. Please advice.thank you.

Hi! Can you talk with your vet about the bandage, did it get wet? Can you take soft cloths and warm water and wipe the rest of her down, use a fresh cloth after every wipe. Keep her warm, and dry her with a fresh cloth.

Thank you. I am not in US or Europe. Vets are not very accessible here. And it is night here.So I can contact the vet only tomorrow. Bandage didn't get wet at least from the feel of it. I will follow your advice and pray for the best.

Urine is sterile, so she's not going to get an infection from that. It's the wetness that's the problem. If the bandage is not wet, no need to do anything with it. Just wipe the urine off her skin with a warm soapy cloth and let her do the rest when she's more awake. Good luck
