I'm not sure if it's in here I have to write this question? But here goes.

The usual brown spotted variation of the Bengal costs around 1200-1300 usd in my country. How much should a breeder take for a red one compared to this? Or is that so different from state to state and country to country that one can't say?

I wouldn't expect the color to make a difference in price. Red (or cinnamon) is not the most common color, but that does not necessarily make it more desirable.

I think the best way to find out would be to find a breeder who has reds snd ask what they charge.

Sex-linked red is not an accepted color in CFA, TICA or FIFe. Are you currently considering a breeder that produces this color?

I believe that cinnamon is AOV ("any other variety") in CFA and is not accepted in TICA or FIFe. Because cinnamon is recessive, it is something that could appear in a litter by accident. I don't believe it is a color that breeders are intentionally working towards, although I am not a Bengal breeder. Cinnamon originally came from the red Abyssinian, so I imagine that it might indicate Aby and/or Ocicat ancestry in a Bengal bloodline.

Generally if a breeder charges extra for a "rare" color that is not accepted within a breed, I would not recommend working with that breeder.

Thank you both for taking your time. :) I was mostly thinking if the price would be lower. I came across a breeder's website one day where they were aiming at breeding red Bengals - not cinnamon but a more red/cream color and that made me curious, but I could not find the website again. Can Ocicats be cinnamon? I did not know that. I have Bengals myself and when we searched for breeders we never saw any red ones so I had no idea they existed but there seems to be a cream spot on Scarlet's paw.

Cinnamon is an accepted color in Ocicats. Abyssinians were used in the creation of the Ocicat breed and that is how they got the cinnamon color.

Sex-linked red is not accepted in either Bengals or Ocicats. In either of those breeds, sex-linked red would indicate cross breeding with something else. Sex-linked red cannot be "carried" in a line, as it is not recessive.

If you post pictures of Scarlet, we can give an opinion of whether the "cream" spot looks like a torbie patch, or just part of the tabby pattern.

Are you sure red or cream is not accepted? I have seen many sites with Bengal descriptions where red was listed among the colors without this being mentioned. I can't post pictures of Scarlet from this computer but it does not look to me like it is part of her pattern.

Some brown tabby Bengals are very reddish in color, and breeders may be referring to this... but sex-linked red is not an accepted color.
