Wow, you're all very talented! @amysuen, your daughter is gorgeous :) My mother made my aunt's wedding dress, so she's a good sewer too.

I wish I could sew, but I have DI George Syndrome, which means that I'm unable to.

I have made a costume for the kids a couple of times, toys for the kids and one time for the cats and a lot of other stuff. I always love it at the beginning but it gets a little too time consuming sometimes. I don't really have time for it anymore.

Here's the story. I learned to cook in Home Ec. I (sort of - we made instant pudding) and promptly went home and asked my mom if I could start preparing meals for the family. She hated to cook, so it was a win-win.

My family moved right before we started to sew pillows in Home Ec. II. Home Ec. wasn't offered until high school here. I didn't sign up and never learned to sew. I have always regretted it. I would have probably loved to sew as much as I love to cook.

I really admire you folks that can sew. Those pictures...wow!

I finished both sets of bathroom curtains and DH hung them yesterday. I need to wash the new shower curtain for the kid's bathroom. It's full of wrinkles anyway. I'll try to get a few pictures to post once I do. It was time consuming but I'm happy with how they came out.

I do still need to add the "antique" silver buttons to my bathroom curtains; but I figured I could get them hung. I don't know if I will be able to find them again because I've had them a while and they aren't on the manufacturer website anymore. I might be able to mix and match though. That could be cute!

I don't have any intention of making sewing a real hobby; but I'm glad I can do what I can. My Gram taught me when I was a kid and then I took lessons at a local fabric store to learn how to sew from a pattern. I remember making shorts and using the scraps to make a matching scrunchie. Those were totally in at the time. Then I lost it when my friend's mom took us to the circus. That's how long ago that was.:paperbag:

I've made reusable shopping bags from feed bags - sturdy woven plastic, colorful, attractive designs. Friends with chickens, sheep, horses etc save them for me.

OK, so I'm WAY off topic here, but that great bag took me to looking at your website @catapault , and you are such a talented woman! All those wonderful books on gardening and plants that you've written. I'm so impressed!

Sorry.. back on topic before I have to flag myself. :paperbag: :D
