PS for those of us who love The Beatles, Peter Jackson is working on a new documentary:
~ There are some nice clips from Ron Howard's film of Beatles in concert . And to think some people believe they could not play their own instruments ...:stars:

They were not just a band over here. They were a way of life.. local boys who made good. Hard to explain. Living hear Liverpool they were heroes. A cult really.
~ Wow ... I can only imagine what that was like.

The Beatles' breakup started the day their manager Brian Epstein died. After his death there was all kinds of in-fighting with the biggest controversy being between Paul, who wanted Linda Eastman's father to be their manager, while Alan Klein had managed to earn the trust of the other 3. Yoko was also a disruptive influence.

There were numerous offers of millions of dollars made to the Beatles in the early 70's to get together for anything (a concert, a tour, an album). In every case they declined. They all went on to have success on their own. Had they all survived, I think the likelihood of a reunion would still be very remote.

There have been some semi-reunions such as the Concert for Bangladesh in which Ringo joined George on stage.

Whenever I see the footage of them (along with Billy Preston) performing Get Back on the roof of Apple, I get melancholy knowing that is the last performance by the Beatles.:sigh:

I don't think they would've regrouped, I just don't.

You would really love a little pizza/Italian place here in Emmaus, PA., they LOVE the Beatles and the whole place is Beatles, the WHOLE place, pictures all over, music playing constantly. It's called Cavaluzzo's, Google
"cavaluzzo's pizza emmaus" and you can see it!

Great video ...! That's what I hear in the background - a Fender-Rhodes . I always thought it was some trick George was doing with guitar pick-ups ...
:clap2: Thanks !

Here's the video of it:

At 2:08 you see Billy Preston briefly in the background. At around 2:49 you see him playing the Fender Rhodes piano.
I like the bit where the pipe smoking older guy climbs onto the roof. It looks incongruous. I wonder what he was thinking.
That was a piece of history that the party pooping police stopped no doubt due to a complaint by a miserable spoil sport.
My memory says they played two or three songs. Great vid.
