I've been writing 2020 on things for the school year and I almost wrote the date wrong for today. :paperbag: :lol2: We only have one week of summer break left! I'm a little torn on how I feel about this. :runaround: this guy fits a bit.

How many pairs of shoes do you own? And how many do actually you wear?

I have 5 pairs that I wear regularly and probably another 5 that I don't. I had to get rid of a lot of my shoes after my DD was born because my foot size changed so much. I don't have any heels anymore. Mostly I have sandals and sneakers. It's hard when I have to dress up in cold weather now because I've gotten too picky with my shoes. I want to look nice but feel good too. :gaah:

I just went shoe shopping with DH and my kids. In our house girls need way more shoes than the boys it seems. (DD got a pair of Grumpy Cat Bobs. :lol2: She is SO excited to wear them. :lol2:)

I have about 15 pairs, of which 6 are heels that I no longer wear. Of the rest I regularly wear 3 pairs. I really should throw several away.

I have 5 pairs that I wear regularly. I probably have 5 or 6 pairs of dress shoes in the closet that I rarely wear. Most are heels but they aren't high heels. I gave up on high heels at least 25 years ago.

I have a lot of pairs of shoes and I wear 4 consistently (canvas Sperrys, flats with cats on them, flip flops, and hiking boots). I have a worn, worn pair of Sperrys that I wear whenever we do yardwork. I have some "dress" shoes, which is hilarious because I never get dressed up
I'm going to have to do a mass purge whenever we move. Until then, they will collect dust in my over-the-door shoe holder thing.

Lemme see if I can answer this by memory:

Two pairs of Hi-Tec hiking boots, fairly lightweight despite leather uppers, and with good soles for trails and whatnot.

One pair of steel-toed work boots, almost worn out.

A nice pair of mid-rise wet weather boots with Vibram soles and funk-free linings, these also work great in cold weather.

A pair of "Harsh" skate shoes, which are not really good skate shoes at all but are quite comfortable for walking around, making store runs, etc.

A pair of Vans Slip-ons, good for climbing ladders, puttering around the house, etc.

A pair of Vans Hi-Tops, not used much anymore except as cat toys... I use the shoes as doorstops and for some reason the kittehs love attacking these, maybe it's the long laces.

A pair of "Batman" sandals or slaps from WallyWorld, comfortable for no-sock cruising through the house or yard.

A pair of cheap shower shoes, flip-flops used solely to and from the bathroom at shower time, and not in the shower... tubs are clean, so no point in getting the shoes wet.

A pair of Chinese leather moccasins, good for watching TV or cooking in the kitchen. I kick 'em off once I'm comfortably seated in the leather recliner, but the socks usually stay on my feet.

Last but not least, two pairs of climbing shoes: Fires (Fee-rays) and Sportivas, both pairs have seen much climbing but the Sportivas are newer so they're still in pretty good shape. Haven't used them in awhile, but I'm holding out hope for a long moderate climb at Cochise Stronghold, perhaps "Ewephoria" on the Sheepshead.

I can't think of any other pairs, so let me do the math... makes a round dozen pairs, right? Meh, Imelda Marcos I'm NOT, LOL.

P.S. Here in Redneck Land, the worn-out work boots qualify as "dress shoes!!!" WOOHOO!!! :yess:

Somewhere in the area of 15 pairs of sneakers. Mostly Nike. Including 2 pairs of high tops that I designed myself when they had the Nike ID thing on the website.

3 pairs of Crocs. One pair of regular flats that I wear to go to the mailbox, etc.The second is a pair of Mary Jane flats and the other are wedges.

DH's LL Bean slippers. I bought them for him for Christmas the year before he passed. He loved them. I can't get rid of them. They are too big on me but I wear them sometimes during the short part of the year that we call "winter".

I confess, I have too many pairs of shoes. :paperbag: But in my defense I take good care of my clothes/shoes so they last longer. How's that for rationalization? ;)
i wear my running shoes the most followed by sandals in summer. Living in a colder climate I have different boot lengths too, e.g. knee high for blizzards, mid-high for normal snowfalls and ankle high for melting minor snowfalls and ice. :cold:

I have several pairs of sneakers- some pretty well beat up, and others decent enough to wear when out and about- a pair of hiking boots, 2 pairs of dress boots, and a couple of pairs of winter boots.

Don't worry I just rationalize the cost of mine. I have 2 pairs of Merrell sandals for summer and a pair of Chacos for kayaking. Then I wear Merrells and an over-priced pair of New Balance running shoes most of the rest of the year. I didn't like the price on any that much; but you know they are comfortable, supportive and stylish. :smash:

I have two pair of shoes that I wear. I usually wear only the pair of sneakers. I had two pair of dress shoes. One I rarely wear and the other one I threw out when I retired. I go bare footed around the house.

I have 8 pairs of shoes or boots. I wear three regularly, two pairs of running shoes (the older pair I use for work, the other for running/exercising) and one pair of dressier black shoes for when I decide to wear a dress to work. The other shoes I have are winter boots, flip-flops, two pairs of nicer shoes, and a pair of casual tennis shoes (like off-brand Keds, I guess).

My dad has exactly 2 pairs of shoes---his boots, and the previous pair of the same boots to wear when mowing or painting. Well, wait, he also has a pair of cheap flip-flops he wears in the house. 3 pairs. So he thinks having 12 pairs of shoes qualifies someone as Imelda Marcos .

It's harder for women to have fewer shoes. The social expectations on color and style matching means more are required. I have around 5 or 6 pairs of sandals and maybe 10 pairs of closed shoes. There are some I don't wear anymore so I should go through them and make a Goodwill run.

In the summer, the ones I wear the most often are the cheap black slipons for work, and the cheap slides for the rest of the time. Both bought at Walmart. Even though I have nice $100 leather work shoes. Oh well, I'll wear them during the winter.

:( I don't know. There's a box in the attic of sexy heels that I do not wear. I wore 5" heels at my wedding and couldn't wear any heels after that- anything more than 1/2" caused agony for years. Now I just pretty much wear two pairs of shoes and sometimes work boots.

I have 2 pairs of running shoes, one for gardening/dirty stuff and one for work.
I have one pair of plain black flat slip-ons
I have 5 pairs of high heel dress shoes (closed toe, peep toe, strappy all in black and a white and a brown pair)
I have my wedding shoes - that I've actually worn more than once!
I have multiple pairs of flip flops in different colors
I have a wedge heel sling back in pink canvas
I have a pair of rubber boots
I have a "nice" pair of winter boots and a pair of big clunky winter boots (ugly but warm).
I have 3 pairs of ankle boots (with heels) and 2 pairs of "tall" boots (with heels). Two of which need to be thrown out because they are in really rough shape.
I also have a couple of other pairs that are just taking up space in my closet that need to be thrown out.
I actually wear all of them, just not very often for the dressy ones.

Next I want a pair of cowboy boots. I have always wanted a pair but a good pair is so expensive so I've been keeping an eye out and saving up.

I used to have maybe twenty pair at a time but developed severe arthritis in one foot to the point where most of my shoes no longer fit and buying new ones is just too frustrating . So I am down to about six pair of flats and athletic shoes. Then of course, this being Minnesota there are the boots. I have short slush boots, high slush boots, short cold weather boots, high snow boots and outdoor general winter shoes.

Excluding slippers, I have four pairs of shoes. I hate shoes. They are hard to find in my size and I need them perfectly flat because of my disability. I have one pair of back, velcro "dressy" Mary Janes, one pair of brown (also velcro) winter shoes, and two pairs of Birkenstock sandals. The sandals are the same style, although one is really beat up. Both pairs are well over 20 years old and have been resoled a few times each.

...with the cats...
i have a pair of flip flops that i wear almost all year long, indoors only shoes. and a pair of roomy sneakers that i wear as slippers, indoors only.

for outdoors shoes: a pair of crocs rain boots, a pair of work boots (for yard work and mowing the lawn), and two (very inexpensive) pairs of sneakers/walking shoes -- these aren't quite comfortable enough, but will be worn until they're worn out.

this thread reminds me that i need a new pair of winter boots. my current pair have cracks along the sides near the bottom, which let in water/melty snow.

so, i have six pairs of shoes. :D
