I'm reading In her Footsteps by Ruth Harrow. In the first chapter Harriet leaves
her abusive husband and moves to Coventry. (she had been living in London).
She had been saving up to leave him but didn't have quite enough money but something happened and she had to leave quickly. It's now 18 months later.

I finished You're All Mine by the same author so I decided to try this one and I like it. I've been reading those on my tablet. The Death of Mrs. Westaway I've
been reading in book form going back and forth.

What have you guys been reading?

I took a break from the Mrs. Murphy series to read "Pistols for Two" by Georgette Heyer, the undisputed queen of the Regency Romance genre. "Pistols" is a collection of rather delightful short stories, and I thoroughly enjoyed the book.

Now, back to the Mrs. Murphy series! My big question right now is...once I finish it, do I plunge right into the "The Cat Who" series, or do I take a break from cat cozies and read the "Leaphorn and Chee" series first?

You might enjoy the "Cat Who" series more if you take that break so you're not comparing two cat mystery series. It's a matter of how much you want to concentrate, though. The "Cat Who" books are rather simple and good for times when you're tired and/or not feeling well.

The Leaphorn/Chee books are good, as are those of Anne Hillerman, who continued the series after her father's death.

Well, I'm almost done with the The Death of Mrs.Westaway by Ruth Ware and I have the other one, The Lying Game, ready to be picked up is at the library.
I have her latest, The Turn of the Key, on hold and there is one person ahead of me. Last week I reread In a Dark, Dark Wood so I guess I am a huge fan, ha!!

Right now I am reading "The First Conspiracy: The Secret Plot Against George Washington" by Brad Meltzer. I guess most people would find it dry since it isn't really a novel. He goes into specifics about a plot that the British governor of New York had to kill George Washington during the beginning of the Revolutionary war. It is said the beginnings of domestic terrorism and counterintelligence.

Maybe if I post my to be read book, I'll actually read it instead of just meaning to! Next book in my to be read queue is His Majesty's Dragon, by Naomi Novik. I've been told by multiple friends that it's something I'll probably like, and darn it, I'm going to try it! ...eventually...>.>;

I'm reading "Puss 'n Cahoots," #15, so I'm a bit over halfway done now. I do NOT have the most recent book, I have to wait for that to come out in paperback. So far, so good, and combines my love of cats and my love of horses!

I do have a short series, the Cookbook Nook series and the Library Lover's series, that I might tuck in there before starting another LOOOOOONG series! And I try to read a stand-alone or two between series, just to "clear my palate."

I think I'm good with all the choices from my library. :read:

Still reading:
I saw that and immediately put it on my wishlist at Thriftbooks. MUST add it to my index cards, my Word file, and my AllMyBooks!

Right. I have the Anne books, as well.

Right now I am reading "The First Conspiracy: The Secret Plot Against George Washington" by Brad Meltzer.
I may need to go and search out the Meltzer books. I loved his television show, and was so disappointed when it went off the air!

That sounds good. I never knew that happened.

Wowza, my reserved books came in at the same time!

Summer of 69
The Lying Game
The Silent Patient

I'll finish The Rumor, then get started on the ones I have waiting for me.

I hate when that happens! Especially since I'm such a slow reader. Recently one of my e-books became available, but I wasn't ready and let the hold expire. I've since put it on hold again, and now there's a SIX MONTH wait !!!!:argh:

Oh, definitely go for the Hillerman. I have a couple of hardback books of his. Always good for a quick change of pace.
