I am fostering three kittens. They are five weeks old now. I’m not sure of their history, but the rescue picked them up from a high kill facility that already had them scheduled for euthanasia the next day. They were filthy, had fleas, had eye infections, and were nothing but skin and bones. There was no mom with them. So, I know they have had a hard start. I have had them 8 days.

They are now eating great, have gained a lot of weight (have gone from about 10 oz each to over a pound), are playing, fleas are gone, they love people, and seem happy. They do still have worms even after being wormed three times. I’ve already got a call in to the rescue about that. But, my concern is about their bellies. They have hardly any fur on them. Is this normal for kittens with their background or should I be concerned? They aren’t over grooming. To be honest, I’m not sure they have ever groomed their bellies.

They’re all like that? I’d say theyre normal. Maybe looks extra weird cus their bellies are so swollen. It’ll probably get better as they grow and their fur thickens.

Do they have such long ears or does it just look that way on the photo? If they do, they may Be some mix of Devon Rex or of other kitties with little hair

The bellies look normal to me, given their age. I've had plenty of kittens born here and I'm pretty sure they all had thinly-furred bellies. Their belly areas all filled in as they got older. :)

Our 5 orphan kitties look like that too. A combo of messy eating and fat bellies, in our kitten's case, anyway.

Yes, he has huge ears. The other two have big ears as well, but not as big as his. Here is another photo of him and one of all three. (The one of all three isn’t good.)

Thanks for the supportive words, everyone! This is only my second litter and the first were balls of fluff. I’m glad everyone thinks they’re normal.
