surya surya I hope that everyone will consider if they can find a place for one of those kittens. I know the expense of moving is a lot! If the kittens were off your mind it would be huge a relief. The names and faces are so precious! Any help sent your way will be a blessing to many. The domino effect comes into play here. Helping one, helps many more down the line. My prayers for you, your kitties and kittens continue. Sending out as many vibes and messages as possible. Hoping that someone here or near you can at least offer temporary assistance. :vibes: :lovecat4:

rubysmama rubysmama Hoping for surya surya too! I’m sure everyone here knows how much I admire her work with kitties and all the sacrifices she has made in order to accomplish so many rescues. Hopefully as we post, someone can help to rescue her too.

Thank you to everyone responding here about this. The vibes, thoughts, hopes and prayers are appreciated greatly. Please continue.

Thanks about the room. It’s coming along. Finally! Lol I’m going to have a loooong nap when I finish! My old bones are aching. When you are 150 years old, you shouldn’t be hauling plywood! ;)

That is a handsome frog! A great frog among froggies! I like green. :D

tarasgirl06 tarasgirl06 I understand about those who do not support our strong beliefs. As I have gotten older ,and hopefully wiser, I do not allow others to interfere with what I know to be the right and just thing to do. The path I take may not be their path but I will not give in on certain things. I trust my instincts and abilities more as I go. Life is too precious to be taken for granted. We must act when given the opportunity. I have often been taken to task about putting so much into my mother, daughter and now the kitties. I am quick to point out that as long as I can handle the issue, step back and let me do it. The others are welcome to walk with me and help or step out of my path. I don’t fault those who cannot walk with me but do not drag me down either. I am surprise your ex understood. Perhaps he grew from watching you. You set a good example for him.

I’m glad you like the room. I like bright spaces. Earth ,sea and sky! Good light for cats and birds. Or Jcatbirds! Lol I forgot to tell everyone that while I had the doors open as I hoped for Mitsy to come in, Froggie came in! He hopped around the whole room. Either he was looking for Banjo or he was checking out the space. Maybe he’s not a Prince but a contractor! If so, I could have used his help earlier!

I totally get your sense of humor. I loved the cat filter. It’s far better to find a way to get through things with a smile! If the bluebird of happiness poops on your day, use it to grow flowers! :bouquet:

@walli Thank you for adding your prayers for surya surya We all work together towards the same goals with kitties. Her road is difficult right now. May she find a safe haven for herself and those kittens. If we could just find four good kitten homes it would ease her load.

@Buffster7 Yay for your kitties! You are moving ahead! Love the photos you posted on your thread. :heartshape:

Twilight was a gift. A treasured one.

That room! Heh. A true challenge that I had to rise to meet. I have survived it so far! Just a littlllllle longer. Hopefully!

A friend had offered me a cat tree that their cats weren’t using. Another friend brought it to us this morning! Another addition to the cat room! :yess: The kitties investigated it right away. Who claims it?

My people raised me like that, too. Thinking for yourself and considering others' thoughts/opinions but doing what you believe to be right, including helping those in need whenever possible, were very important to them. It worked really well for us, too. And it continues to, for me. Sometimes I call my parents "model citizens" -- they probably wouldn't necessarily accept that title, because they were both very humble people in the true and positive sense of the word. But I wish there were many, many more like them, especially where raising kids and taking personal responsibility within society are concerned. There's too much pain in this world that could be assuaged if it were so.

So Froggie approved of the beautiful room! It is just gorgeous and after the exhaustion and soreness go away, you're going to be really proud of it, undoubtedly!

And for almost all the news, "apply the cat filter" is my new motto.

Remember I suggested keeping Benadryl? Never tempt fate! Thank goodness for that stuff. I had a young man here to haul off the rotten lumber from the cat room. :yess: I was so grateful for the help. I pulled the tarp off to start helping him and SMACK! I saw it coming but it was way to fast to stop. I was hit so hard I twisted arojnd and caught myself as the front of his pick nearly hit me. I’l okayish. My face looks like it really did get hit by a truck but only stung on the lip by a hornet. The young man was so sweet. He grabbed a cigarette and broke it open. He ran to the hose and got the tobacco wet and held it to my lip. An old remedy but it does work. I couldn’t move for a minute. The sting diminished a bit but my face and throat were swelling. The muscles in my lip are still in spasms. I came in and took a Benadryl. Thank goodness I had already tended the kitties. I’m going to try and sleep through the pain. No work today. Really?!?!? If fate wanted me to take a break, this worked! :flail:

Bad spot for a hornet! Even my teeth hurt! Oh well. It could be worse. It could have gotten my neck. Last time ( my only other hornet sting) it got just above my eye. I was lucky. I was wearing sunglasses.
Keep an emergency kit. Please! You never know when you’ll need it. Ironic huh? :thud:Free comsmetic lip injections here? Want nice full pouty lips! Should last for days! :ohwell::running:

DANG. Hornets don't mess around. I'd much rather deal with mosquitos or bees. A bee stung me right beside my right eyebrow. Poor thing fared worse than I did, though, of course.

Quick thinking on the part of the guy! and you, too. It's good you've been stung before because you knew about that (but it sounds like it IS pretty bad!). I have a cousin who's allergic to bee stings and that's why when I got stung, I got scared; but it was no big deal for me. *PRAYERS* for quick recuperation!!!

Owww, owww, owww. That sounds, and looks, painful. Hope the swelling and pain go away soon. Good thing you had Benadryl. I used to always have some, but it always expired before I needed it, so I stopped replenishing it. I must get some next time I'm out.

For when you're feeling better and it doesn't hurt to smile...

Yeah, but if you leave them alone, they will not harm you in most cases.

Owie, those hornet bites hurt! I trapped a skinny girl cat tonight. She's the one that had the babies that were killed. There was a kitten over there, I think probably someone dumped it. It was a sweet tame kitty, but dirty and coughing. I couldn't bring it inside because there is no place to keep it.

Ow! I’m just lucky he stopped his truck when I swung around. My hands and his braking foot! I slammed into that truck. He reacted very quickly. Sweet young fellow. I am grateful.

My face is very swollen! Red streaking was across half my face. The streaking is gone now but without the Benadryl, not sure how I would have done. The tobacco really eased the sting. I guess I should add that to my emergency kit. Lol An old lady in the country taught me about that trick but I was lucky that guy thought of it. I guess it will take a couple of days for this to go away. Thank you for the sympathy everyone!

rubysmama rubysmama It only hurts when I laugh! :flail:Ow.:flail:Ow:flail:Ow:flail:

The bee and the wasp! :flail:Ow.

Don’t worry ! I didn’t kill the hornet. Those guys are really aggressive though. Wasps usually buzz but go away. Bees aren’t always a stinging kind. Bumble bees don’t sting. Honey bees do. Did you know that if some kinds bees sting, they lose their stinger and die!?!
They sacrifice their life to protect their hive. :( That’s bee ing a hero!

How about a lop sided smile from me tonight? Lol

To date, I've rescued 5 stray/semi-feral/feral cats. The first being Hazel and her two kittens back in May of 2016. Unfortunately, one of her kittens escaped his caregiver and is now living an outdoor life yet again... unaltered at that. :mad2:

Below are the recent abandoned jellybeans I've rescued...

Calico Kitty - Caught July 23rd, 2019

Admiral (Possibly the oldest member of the colony) - Caught July 23rd, 2019

They're supposed to be looked after by a veterinarian today so not sure what will happen. Kitten should be okay but I don't know how sick Admiral is.

- - - - - - - - - - -

Van Kitty - Location unknown (looked very sick the last time I saw him, it's been 5 - 6 days now). Left food out last night and it hasn't been touched.

My previous rescue's story: Hazel's Story / Hazel's Story (Continued)

It looks like Froggie is flashing a double peace sign there. *It's all good!* Such a sweet relationship Banjo has with this handsome prince!
Yes, the bee that stung me left the stinger in me and sacrificed her life for her colony.
Sounds like you are pretty allergic. My mosquito bite caused my arm to swell up and get warm and red from wrist to elbow. It's now only a tiny red dot. But it took all of the 10 days I read it can take, to get from there to here. That's without any antihistamine or antibiotics except a triple antibiotic topical I put on the bite every day.

Good morning everyone! It’s nice to see you here Graceful-Lily Graceful-Lily Please tell us who your kitties are. I have read some of your threads and I know of Hazel and a few others. We all love rescuers here! We’re very happy to have you here! :)

surya surya That kitten does look starved. Poor little one. I was hoping things would be better there.

tarasgirl06 tarasgirl06 That bee really got you! Ten days? A sensitivity to bites maybe. I do okay with most types but Hornets are the ones that I am sensitive too. Not allergic though. Froggie was obviously sending you hope for peace!

M maggiedemi Thank you about my teeth. They have a story all their own! I almost had to go into treatment in a hyperbaric chamber! :eek2:
I’m not allergic to hornets but maybe a bit sensitive. Honestly, they just pack a punch! It’s like being hit in the face with a bolt of fire. They fly really fast and straight for you. Bees and wasps give you more of a chance to leave. :running:

Froggie and Banjo are happy with each other as they are. Some relationships are just made that way. I suppose if they lived in the same cat tree, it might be different. ;)

Our smile for now is a bit less lip sided. The swelling is a little better. Thankfully! My lower lip vanished last night!

I worked again on the room when I couldn’t sleep last night. I had company though!
