Those photos of Twilight are so very, very sweet. You took such wonderful, loving care of him. And, switching over to a positive note (!), I love that little grasshopper, but hope that froggie has not been replaced!

Thank you. Twilight was a wonderful boy. I really did love him.

Banjo kind of thought I had replaced her Prince but , no worries, he was just above the grasshopper. When I saw how shocked Banjo was, I showed her that Froggie was okay. Lol

:redheartpump:((((((((:kitty:)))))))):redheartpump: :hugs: Twilight. I am so very sorry for your loss! and know he watches over you all until reuniting in due time.
There were two -- actually three -- who left us far too soon. First, there was Baby Nelson, murdered by dogs because my ex would not let me bring him in and at that time, we had no fence & gate where we were living. He was just a baby.
Then there was Koala Naomi, whom I believe contracted wet-form FIP from the intranasal vax. She left us before we had a chance to get her to her vet the next morning.
And then there was Corrie angel. I adopted her as an adult from a close-by shelter shortly after our angel Nicolas T. Cat ascended, as it is my policy to do this whenever possible. She suddenly developed paralysis of her hindquarters and the Xrays showed a large mass. The doctor said she was in pain. So she was assisted to the Bridge. She was with us for only a couple of months, and left us three days after my father passed. It was unendurable, but here I still am.
I am so glad that Froggy showed up -- a katydid is nice, but Froggy is the Prince and Banjo's paramour! :happycat::hearthrob:
Oh, I almost forgot! I had a "jumping experience" two locations ago, when I had bent down in our front yard and a little field mouse ran up me and got in my hair. I have no idea why this happened! and IDK who was more surprised.

Romeo posed for you.
BJ and Kodiak.
Love it !!!!

I wasn’t surprised by that but it ocurred to me that the vet suffers as much as we do during loss.
I've read actually that depression and suicides are high among vets. Losing sick pets is hard on them, of course. But even worse is when a "pet parent" wants a healthy pet "put down" and the vet either does it, or possibly loses a client. And since pets are "property" there's no laws to save healthy animals lives.

Here it is again. Still love you Twilight! Thank you for giving me a part of your heart to keep!:redheartpump:
Oh, Twilight. Sorry your life ended too soon, but so glad you found love, and that your passing was peaceful. RIP sweetie. :angel3:

A grasshopper?!?!? :flail:

I hope you are smiling again!:kitty: :heartshape:
Yeah, needed the smile, after the tearful Twilight post. :sniffle: But thanks for posting about him. :alright:

I don't have an issue with mice, like I do with spiders, but I wouldn't want one in my hair !!! :eek2:

TYSM. You know what they say about "What doesn't kill you makes you stronger." Sometimes I wish we didn't have to get quite so strong. :sigh:
Thankfully, even the bad times eventually end. But they're still not much fun when you're living through them. :sigh:

Now this is an article about a very sad and disturbing event, and I in no way mean any disrespect to anyone. I watch a lot of true crime programs and feel very unhappy about every one of them. But I didn't write this; I'm just sharing it because, yes, it's now on my mind.
Cat filter accidentally gets activated during press conference for double murder
Hopefully they'll find the perpetrator(s) of this horrible crime soon and they'll receive justice.
But I want the cat filter and it's only on Snapchat, which I don't have and am not getting. If I did, I'd have it turned on whenever I looked at any news.

Thank you. I’m sorry for your losses too. Natural or unnatural, it’s always hard. The murders really get to me. I had twenty here. I managed to interfere and stop them. That was a very hard time for me and the kitties. That’s one reason I so admire BJ. He acted as a true and brave hero. He saved a great many lives. I’ve seen some amazing things happen among kitties but watching BJ was awe inspiring. He risked his own safety to keep the clowder safe.

( M maggiedemi I typed it right this time! Lol not chowder! )

As for a mouse on your head! Oh my! Lol My Mom once rescued a chipmunk from the cats. She took it out to release it but one of the cats had escaped the house and followed her. The chipmunk spied the cat and climbed straight up into Mothers hair. I did this!:flail: Mom did a little dance as the chipmunk held on. I managed to get control of myself and grabbed the cat. The chipmunk finally climbed off.

I can relate. We can't endure it, yet we endure it anyway. We humans are a tough bunch. :hugs:
We do endure it. The thing is, we do all we can and must turn the rest over to a higher power. We are always left with the good things that our loved ones gave us. That helps us to endure. We can look to meet again someday. With each good encounter and each experience, we do learn, gain and become stronger. Even through loss. ;)

I’ve read that about vets too. I try to continue to remind our vets that we love them and always need them in our lives. I hope that helps them some.

Life seems to go in cycles. Good moves to hard, moves back to good. We just have to keep putting one paw in front of the other to get back to good. It always comes back.

I kind of figured after the Twilight story, some might need relief from that. That’s why I try to post some smiles. If people can come here and know that, no matter what else has transpired during the day, a smile may be waiting for them, maybe that’s a good thing. The kitties like to help. :dancingblackcat:

On to more kitty chaos! :dizzycat:

The kitties are busily exploring the new flooring. The last tile is down! Yay! That tile was a pain! It seemed to have been stored improperly. Exposed to heat or moisture maybe? The glue had melted! It had bonded some of the tiles together and had oozed onto the edge of some tiles. Yuck! It took longer than it should have and I still have some small issues. I’m going to call the manufacturer to ask about it. :argh:They may have some information. If the cats didn’t need their room, I’d handle it differently but they really want the space back.

They seem to like it!

Banjo gave it a very critical inspection. Lol

Then she bumped me knee...

And started giving me a rub down!

Your knees hurt Mom?

I’ll rub them.

Thanks for fixing the floor and getting those ants out!

Mitsy took a long look around.

She checked the corner for ants.

She says it looks okay.

Kodiak wanted her picture taken in the refreshed space. Posing by the cat pillow made me smile. New friend Kodiak?

Whistle finds everything different but gave me the high tail sign!

Now they just want the baseboards put back with all their stuff! Final stages! I hope!

BJ and Kodiak are relaxingthere together.

Banjo went to her Frog watching station but when Mitsy joined her I assumed there would be a swat.

Nope! Banjo gave Mitsy a kiss!

It looks like it’s going to be a happy cat room.
Nearing the finish line! :yess: I painted the last pieces of baseboard today after pulling out the old nsils. I have some new pieces too so there will be some, likely frustrating, cutting of corners pieces. Our friend @NY cat man havd me some helpful information too. :crossfingers: I start after a little more prep work. I think I can finally see the light at the end of the road!

surya surya You have my prayers. Instantly!
To everyone here. This is one of our very dedicated rescuers! She had often put herself at risk to save these kitties. Offered all she has to offer. Asking that we all send helpful vibes, thoughts , prayers and hope! :redheartpump::grouphug2:

I need some prayers Jcatbird. First for the four grey kitties I trapped from the burnt out apartment. Rain, Rocket, River and Rex. They need a rescue or an adopter.

And secondly, I need financial help to move into the new apartment.

Thank you
Sending good vibes your way, surya surya . :vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes:

It looks like it’s going to be a happy cat room.
Happy and BEAUTIFUL. You've done an amazing job!!!

Froggie sends you a kiss and hopes for magic for you.
He's pretty cute, for a frog. :catman:

surya surya *PRAYERS* from the heart and may the help you need come to you, quickly and plentifully. :vibes::vibes::vibes:

Jcatbird Jcatbird Yes, I will never get over the murders, either. With us, my ex was intuitive enough to point out to the family counsellor we went to that his failure to let me bring Nelson in was the line that was crossed. It was. I will never allow anyone to stand in the way of my being able to provide safe haven for a loved one again.
The cat room is gorgeous! and after ALL the work and the difficult parts -- thanks to NY Cat Man BTW! -- you're going to be able to sit back and enjoy a beautiful room with your loved ones! That exact shade of aqua is so gorgeous, especially with the white marble effect flooring. *My peel-and-press tiles aren't perfect, either. Some of them come up a little bit when it's very cold in the house.*
Froggy Prince is very fine. That's a wonderful close-up!
Glad you thought the cat filter was funny. Some people may think I'm callous or unfeeling, but quite the opposite. My sense of humor is all about the absurd, and about rising above suffering. :yess:

Oh my goodness, the story about Twilight.. I am so glad you were able to show him what it feels like to be loved. I think it's a tragedy for an animal to never know love, and an even worse tragedy to know love and then to be abandoned or mistreated. You were able to give him the precious gift of love and safety for the time that you had him, and that is a gift to you as well. <3

Your floors look great!! Looks like they'll be easy to keep clean, too, score! :woo:
