Hello, I am hoping to adopt this little fella soon as he recovers from his neuter next Thursday. He is currently in foster care with his brother and other rescued kitties in the household.

We were told he’s pretty shy, and prefers to watch other cats play and watch them rough house but she also told us his personality could change (he will be three months soon, not sure when). He was found abandoned at a tire shop with his brother, no mom, but is smaller and was told he maybe the runt. Sadly I do not have any good photos, just these three that the foster lady has given us so far.

We met her at an adoption center and she showed us more photos of him on her phone, and what made me curious is she took several photos of people (kids and adults) holding him while he is limp like a baby and he was content or sleeping like so, therefore I started to guess maybe he is part Ragdoll? But what about Balinese... so I wanted additional opinions. If the photos don’t help much, I’ll try asking again later with better updated photos once we bring him home. I can’t tell if he has blue eyes or green, or perhaps blue-green mix (not heterochromia). The lady caring for him said he has longer fur compared to the rest of her kittens under her care. He looks to be blue point, but that’s why I’m here to ask you :)

-The photo of him alone on her lap was when he was younger and hadn’t darkened his points yet.
-The photo of him with the darker solid cat is his brother.

I’m sure he is a mix, but any ideas on what? We would like to know what to expect if he is a siamese/balinese mix, or something else. Thank you for your time.

Don't overthink it. The majority of cats in the world are just Domestic short or long hair. A full or even part purebred or breed mix is just not going to be found abandoned and alone. The gene pool of cats is so wide and broad and similar traits can show up in literally every cat depending on how they are raised, born, their environment, etc. They are beautiful. That one is a (blue?) color pointed shorthair, and the other looks like a blue shorthair tabby.

I would describe the pointed kitten as a blue point domestic longhair, and I would describe the other kitten as a blue domestic shorthair.

All pointed cats have blue eyes, although the color can vary from a light blue (almost white) to a dark blue.

The recessive gene responsible for pointed coloring is widespread in the domestic cat gene pool and doesn't indicate that a cat or kitten belongs to any specific breed. Also, behavioral traits are not a good way to determine breed ancestry. Most cats are not any particular breed, and are not mixtures of breeds.

You can't really figure out what to expect by looking at his color or physical features, or even his behavior right now. Kittens normally go through many behavioral stages as they mature, and he may surprise you as he grows and changes. If you adopt him, you will gradually get to know him and his unique personality :)

I agree with both above.
Still, if you want to compare to an established breed, so ragdoll "somewhat look alike" is the nearest. Exactly as you yourself mentioned. Why, some ragdolls do even have blue-green eyes...
