I'm really sorry to be posting again but is raw meat okay for the stray kittens? Only one is coming now, the calico. Haven't seen the rest. I tried to feed my dog a raw chicken wing but he didn't want it so I put it outside and little calico kitty ate the whole thing and left the dry food. Is raw meat seen as a higher value item to stray cats? Would this keep him coming around? He just eats and leaves. How can I tame him and bring him in if he keeps running away?

Not the raw meat just slow timely feeding and not making any sudden movements

I find that the voice is an important connection. Talk to your friend when he visits. Let him learn your voice. I also have a sound that I make to let them know that I'm nearby. Kind of a whistling sound. Before touch connection is made, a kind voice can bridge the gap.

One of the kittens is sick but the rescue hasn't gotten back to me yet. I'm not sure what to do. It's raining badly and his only "shelter" is a parked car.

Scoop him up and bring him in if you can. Unless he's so feral that trying to grab him will send him from the shelter of the car into the rain.

He won't let me near him. Any humans approach and he takes off.

Would it be possible to make a DIY trap with a small basket? Sort of like a drop trap? I could probably do that but I'd need to isolate in the house and right now, we have no room and I have no cat cage. I thought about clearing out an extra room but it won't work. What would I do once I catch him? I have no flea medication and no money to take either kitten to the vet. I keep trying to think of ways to help but I feel hopeless.

I tried to take a picture of the sick kitten but I can't go too close or turn the flash on so the quality is terrible.

I'm thinking about buying a 36" dog crate to put them in. Would this be big enough for two adolescent kittens? I marked out the measurements with tape and placed Felix inside for scale comparison. It's about 23" tall and it comes with a divider so I could make a platform at the top probably.

I will also have to buy a trap because there is no other way for me to catch them right now.

This old boy, Admiral, walked right into the trap last night. Didn't care that I was close. I'm glad he did. He looks terrible. He's got scars and scabs - some open wounds. Looks like he might have gotten into a fight with another tom or another animal. Regardless, he's going to animal services today along with calico kitty.

Both cats seem so calm so definitely not feral. They didn't even care that I was close to them. They just had that look of "What's next?" In their eyes. I think kitty is definitely adoptable/tameable. She's young, beautiful, she'd get scooped up for sure. Maybe staff would be more willing to work with her. Old boy Admiral might not be. I hope he's healthy and they don't have to put him down.
