Anything when I was a kid but now it's midget gems and it has to be Lion brand.
I put two fruit ones and a liquorice one in my gob at the same time - sweet and sour effect.

Where to begin!!!! I had a sweet tooth as a child. Not so much any more but every once in a while I indulge.

Fun dips, pretty much any gummy (bears, worms, fuzzy peaches and watermelons, sweetish berries etc...), hubba bubba gum, dots, yummies, marshmallow bananas, chocolate bars (too many to list), candy rings, Popeye's cigarettes, pixy stix, the flavored powdered sugar that came in plastic fruit containers, laffy taffy....and many many more!

I have been a chocoholic all my life. And, I spent most of my working career at Mars.:yess: For 5 of those years, I worked at one of the facilities where they make M&M's. Each morning when you got out of your car in the parking lot, you would either smell chocolate or roasting peanuts. :yummy:

The Trick-or-Treaters who come to our house get only Mars candy. To my wife's chagrin, I always buy more than enough so there is some left over for me.

I'm trying to remember what my favorites were. I remember liking the orange Tic Tacs and just eating the entire container right away. I think my favorites as a kid were 100 Grand and Butterfinger.

My mouth is watering just thinking about all of what you've listed.

My Grandma used to make an almond fudge every year at Christmas. We would find it in or stockings Xmas morning. I have yet to find any that compares today.

Same here, Jem, I don't eat much candy nowadays, but in the past I was a fool for Payday bars, plus anything that had chocolate and caramel. Remember those high-dollar holiday candy boxes? I'd hunt down the caramel centers, LOL. During my "school daze" as a kid, I'd buy Hot Tamales (?) at the movie theater, for some reason I liked those things... tried some more recently and wondered what I ever saw in 'em.

I read an article back in the day that said chocolate was good for you... and maybe it is, LOL. I'm not the kind to obsess over what I eat, though I believe that good nutrition is essential for good health. I figure if I eat good wholesome and nutritious foods 90% of the time, that gives me a 10% margin for straight-up junk food, LOL. No guilt here, that candy bar will eventually be balanced out by a salad or a fruit smoothie...

I do most of my own food prep, and ever since my 20s I've been big on raw foods and enzyme nutrition. I love fresh carrot juice, and juicing fruit straight off the tree... powerful stuff there, really good for your system. Same with fresh salads or smoothies in the blender, so when it's time to mack ice cream or indulge in a candy bar, no worries... the way I see it, if it makes you feel good, it MUST be "health food!!!" Just go easy on the bad stuff, LOL. :cool2:

So many of the candies you all mention were before my time. We just didn't have them.

I loved Heath bars the most - crunchy toffee covered with chocolate. They are still made. I also loved Lick-a-Maid, which was similar to the Pixie Stix but came in a packet that you poured into your hand and licked. Don't believe it's made anymore.

I got 25 cents a week for an allowance, and I raced to the dimestore on my bike and bought two comics and a candy bar. Sometimes I bought one comic, a candy bar, and a sleeve of popcorn with it. The sleeve was huge, about 18 inches long.

Every year, when I was a kid, my parents would go to the state fair in Syracuse ( they never took us , though). They always brought home a box of salt water taffy for us, and that was the only time we got it. Whether or not they still make, I have no idea.
They still make salt water taffy. I was in Wal Mart one night a couple of weeks ago and they had bags of it for $1.98. I bought a couple for the candy jar I keep at work. I normally don't eat much candy but decided to try a few because I hadn't had salt water taffy in so long. It was REALLY good. Good enough that I still can't believe that I got it from the evil empire and not a stand at the boardwalk in Jersey. I had very low expectations and was so surprised when it was as good as it was.

Here it is. https://www.walmart.com/ip/Sweet-s-Salt-Water-Taffy-Candies-14-Oz/11046050

When I was a kid it was any kind of milk chocolate. I didn't like dark chocolate at all, I developed a taste for dark chocolate as an adult. Thankfully I am not as much into chocolate as I used to be or I would weigh at least 300 pounds now. I still like it but I am much more selective. One piece of a really good chocolate satisfies my craving now and I actually prefer dark chocolate now.

My favorite candy is and always will be Hershey's Chocolate Bar with Almonds.

I also liked the peanut butter cups but I ate so many of them when I was a teenager I can't stand the sight of them anymore.

Whatchamacallits were my childhood favorite - the original, thick ones without the caramel.

Now it's Reeces Peanut Butter cups, just the original version. Take 5 would be my favorite if I could still eat them, but the pretzels would make me sick. :(

I loved the Three Musketeers bar. Haven't had one in years. At the movies I liked Junior Mints.

Turkish Taffy and Sugar Daddy's were always at the top of my list.Nowadays I'd have to say that English Toffee is my favorite, and sometimes when it's dipped in chocolate and crushed almonds...even better!

As a kid I loved things like pop-rocks and candy bracelets. And those push pops that left your finger all sticky. And good gummy bears or things like that.

Now; probably chocolate but it really depends on my mood. We always used to bring Twizzlers to chew on car trips and I like Starbursts and things too. But I'm trying to avoid that sort of sugar even when we travel. I still like gummy candy too.
