Female. If it is actually a purebred, did the breeder really not know the sex? Are you sure she isn't just a pointed shorthair? You should post a full body picture.

Did you meet the parents? And does she have papers? 8 weeks is very young to be rehomed, especially by a reputable breeder.

No papers, just bought from a friend of mine, not an expert, but he already sold same age before. Yes, met the other 3 kittens and the mother is healthy and young. The father is a sibling of the mother, was not there, the father is living with his cousin.

You said the father is a sibling of the mother?
So the person intentionally bred brother and sister together?

The father was a sibling of a mother? This is not responsible breeding. Please be sure to have your girl spayed in the next month or so, and do not buy any more kittens from your friend. You will also need to be sure that she is fully vaccinated and dewormed.

Please tell your friend not to breed siblings. It can lead to tragic consequences for the kittens.

Hi C Carlogc0408

It sounds as if you have bought a kitten from rather an irresponsible breeder. Breeding between siblings can result in birth defects. I hope your kitten was lucky enough not to be affected by this, but just in case here are a few suggestions to make sure she is healthy.

When she gets to 600 grams in weight she can have her first vaccinations, your vet will advise you when she needs the second round. Until she has had both rounds of initials jabs she's going to be quite vulnerable to disease, so don't let her come into contact with any other cats.

Ask your vet about getting her blood tested for FIV and FeLV, tested and treated for parasites and spayed. Even if she is healthy it's a really bad idea to use kittens that have siblings for parents to breed from. You may not be intending to breed her anyway, but just in case you should get her spayed before she reaches six months of age.

She is very young to have been separated from her mother and siblings. This can lead to behaviour problems such as biting as she gets older. Make sure you only play with her using a toy, never your hands, and if she does bite make a high pitched squeal like another kitten would, to let her know that hurts.

Good luck, I hope everything works out well with your kitten. I'm sorry you got mislead by the person you bought her from.
