I rescued a kitten who was said to be only 5 weeks old. He was in the adoption room bc a few days ago he was under 2 pounds. Today he is 2.5-3 pounds and is growing fast. Looking up traits of a Bengal cat he has lots of features. Spotted belly, black paw pads, big paws, loves water, larger back legs, can jump like Jordan, very playful. Does he look like a Bengal cat or Bengal mix?

He is adorable! How old did they say he is now? He's obviously older than 5 weeks.

I would describe your kitten as a very cute brown mackerel tabby domestic shorthair! I am not seeing evidence of Bengal breed ancestry in your cat. I see that you took a picture of his belly spots... lots of people are confused by these spots, however spots on the belly are a normal part of the pattern for mackerel and classic tabby cats. It is also normal for some of a cat's mackerel tabby stripes to be broken up into spots. This doesn't indicate ancestry from a spotted breed. Brown tabby cats normally have black paw pads. It is normal for cats to have longer back legs than front legs, and kittens often have big paws :) Finally, temperament traits are not a reliable way to determine breed ancestry... lots of cats love water, are playful, like to jump high, etc. Most cats are not any particular breed, and are also not mixes of breeds.

He’s so cute! I would describe him as a brown mackerel tabby Domestic Shorthair. That’s the landrace cat breed. I’m not really seeing Bengal in your sweet little guy. Having a spotted belly is common for cats with tabby patterns, so it’s not a trait unique to the Bengal. If you’re curious, you can get him DNA tested to see if he has genetic similarities to any breeds.
