I am fresh out of good questions I think. I think I've asked some questions before so my apologies if this is a recent repeat. :paperbag:

Are you an Introvert, Extrovert or Ambivert?

I am definitely an Introvert and so is DH. I do enjoy a little socializing; but I'm picky about who/when/where/why. Sometimes it's just too much effort and/or too draining to bother. I like the internet because I can interact on my own terms. Last weekend DH and I left the church picnic and went home for several hours while my parents took my kids swimming. Sometimes I just get fed up with pretending to be an extrovert and the guilt from not really wanting to socialize. 8 hours of picnic fun is draining to me. The only thing I would have enjoyed that I missed was watching the volleyball game. They get a little...competitive...for church people. :p That didn't start till I went back (without DH) to pick up the kids; who were tired and in need of baths anyway.

Hubby & I are both introverts, but it manifests itself differently in each of us. Hubby compensates so well that people thing he's an extrovert, and he's OK having music/podcasts on all the time, but he gets overwhelmed during family gatherings (about 25 people). I'm fine with family gatherings, but having constant noise, like music/podcasts, wears me out.

My best friend is an introvert too, but different from me. She can stand on a chair in a horned helmet and pretend to belt out opera in front of a hundred people, but can't ask a store clerk for help. I can ask for help but wouldn't be caught dead on a chair in a crowd.

I think I'm an ambivert now. My core is introvert and was until I got old enough not to care so much. I can exhibit both traits unexpectedly. I once got up during a friend and family meal in a restaurant and started dancing around from table to table. My brother in law looked at me agog saying he didn't think I had it in me. I wasn't drunk either.
I can also appear the opposite and insecure when I don't expect it.
I hate it when people say I'm quiet, it's like an insult as everyone seems to appreciate gregarious folks best.
I think I'm a bit bonkers, a bit schizo but not in a bad way.

I would say that I am an extroverted introvert. I like controlled interactions with other people. Remove my C-PTSD and I can talk to large, seated crowds. I do, however, avoid ordering anything over the phone or making appointments over the phone. I actually need human interaction or I get depressed, it just has to be specific types of interaction.

I am ambivert. My introverted and extroverted side are heavily influenced by my hormones and how much food is in my stomach. Also, just general overall feelings.

When I was younger, I was more introverted but as I got older, I've become a lot more extroverted. I tend to asses a situation before I insert myself into it.

I had to Google ambivert, but that's probably what I am, a mix of both. I like to have friends & socialize, but I don't like it when people get too close and think it is okay to give me lectures. So basically I love people, but I also need my space, and no lecturing or criticizing. I have parents for that.

Introvert, pretty sure. I do enjoy time with people, but I get cranky if I don't have downtime.

I read once that extroverts were like solar panels that get charged when around others and lose power in the dark, where introverts are more like the rechargeable battery, where they're good for a while but then need to be plugged in to get energy back. So it wasn't about whether you liked being social or not, but where you got your energy.

Ambivert, definitely. I once confessed to someone who knows me really well that I'm shy, and they hooted loudly. I have a shy core, I guess, but I'm also intensely social and energized by being in crowds, with people, and in public places where there are a lot of people, like parties, malls, etc. That said, I spend more time at home, with cats, than anywhere else, for various reasons, these days. *It's complicated.*

I'm an ambivert too. I like being with people, conversations, parties. On the other hand I hate noisy places and loud adults and kids that talk in public places like they think people two blocks away would be interested in what they're saying. I say get those t.v.s and music at the bar out of the restaurants!

I'm an introvert. At work, I come into my cube and I pretty much stay in my cube. While I'll go out to eat, I try to stay away from the really noisy restaurants (Texas Roadhouse, I mean you!); the music is so loud, you can't have a decent conversation anymore. I'm not comfortable in groups at all. And I'm just downright shy, too.

People mistake being shy for being stuck-up. I'm not stuck-up at all. I'm just really quiet.....until you get to know me. Once you get to know me, you'll wonder if my mouth is ever shut!

Rick is totally opposite. He likes dealing with other people, he loves going to his meetings, he loves talking, and he loves being part of it all. During a gathering, he'll move from person to person, group to group. He knows the right questions to ask people and how to interact. Me? I'd just sit there and be quiet if I could get away with it.

Or as one of my co-workers refers to me: Really cute, but psycho. Things even out.

Most definitely an introvert. But I'm going to take the test that LTS3 LTS3 provided and see where I fall.

OK so I took the test.
The first time I got Logistician - So, 100% introvert, but all the other markers were pretty close to 50/50.
I decided to take the test again, I honestly don't know which answers were different, they may have only been a bit different on the scale by one point but this second time, I now got Advocate - Same 100% introvert - and again all the other markers are pretty close to 50/50.

After reading what it says about both, I gotta say that I identify with mostly being a Logistician, but I do have the intuition and empathy of an Advocate.
I'm going to do it one more time...

OK, NOW it says I'm a Defender! - Still 100% introvert but all other markers are still very 50/50. They hardly change at all, by only a couple of percentage points either way, but it's just enough to "put me over the edge" to another personality type.
I wonder if this means I'm well rounded, or a complete basket case! LOL!
