Didn't McDonald's remove the beef flavoring from their fries?
McDonald's has since added a section to its website clarifying that its fries are neither vegetarian nor vegan-certified. But natural beef flavor still stealthily pops up on McDonald's menus: Notably, in its soon-to-be-served-all-day breakfast hash browns.”
Hmmm.. I thought all McDonalds french fries were vegan. But apparently not in the US. :mad2: They are in Canada, though. :)

From McDonalds Canada "Your Questions":

“I am a vegetarian and was wondering if your fries were vegan? I heard that McDonald's uses beef broth in their fries.”

McDonald's Canada
Our fries are indeed vegetarian-friendly, Jazmine. McDonald’s Canada phased out the use of beef tallow in the fry oil in 2007. Our fries are now made without any animal sources, and fried in 100% vegetable oil with a vegetable-based flavor (you can see the full list of ingredients in our Nutrition Centre). We also cook them in a dedicated fryer, to keep them separate from our meat products. This makes McDonald's Canada fries a favourite among vegetarian (and vegan) visitors like yourself.

And did you know that our fries are also made without any gluten sources? It's true! Just note that as in any working kitchen, the risk of cross-contact does exist despite the precautions we take. Thanks for your question!

That's great! I would never patronize any junk-food place, but for those who take that option, it's good that some of these are getting with the program and offering a variety of options.

Lucky! I might have to move to Canada. I'm only about 30 minutes away.
Do you have a passport? If so, maybe just a day trip, and lunch at McDonalds. :)

I very rarely eat at fast food places either. And never at McDonalds, because despite it being 2019, they still don't have a veggie burger. :mad2:

I agree with some of the previous posts about Five Guys fries. My first visit to a Five Guys, I made the mistake of ordering a large order of fries. OMG, what an enormous amount of fries. I now order the small size and it is plenty.

I really love waffle cut fries. There are a couple of restaurants near me that offer them. Delicious!

I accidentally celebrated Fry Day by actually getting fries from McDonald's. I had been craving them and decided to go the next day. I haven't had McDonald's in years, so it was sort of like a new experience too.

The fries I like are either curly, shoestring ones, or waffle. The worst is definitely crinkle cut. I will not go to a place that serves crinkle cut. I'm not a huge fan of steak fries either.
