Our baby girl milkshake got spooked out of her cat harness and ran up into the woods. I’m desperate at this point. I have 3 other cats that are actually her offspring. I put a chair, blanket, food, shelter. I haven’t seen a trace of her at all. I dont know what to do.

Have you set out a live-trap? Have you contacted animal control, put word out on her on online rescue sites, the shelters. and veterinarians? If not, you may want to, while also putting an ad in the area's newspaper. Keep going back to that area and calling her name, rattle the food dish, and then just listen. Do a stake-out if you have to.

Did you read everything in this thread? Tips for finding a lost cat

Also, don't give up hope. One of mine was lost for a couple of months and then one day I heard her plaintiff little meow and there she was! I had all but given up on her and then there she was! She was still scared and wouldn't come close...we had to literally drag her out from under our neighbors porch, but then she was very happy to be home!.

Did you get her from a shelter or rescue? If so contact them and they should provide you with info and also manpower to find her. One of my fosters from last year got out of the owners home and our shelter volunteers went and canvassed the neighborhood. She was gone for 21 days but finally found. If the lady never got in touch with the shelter who knows what the outcome would've been.

Don't give up yet! It is way, way too soon! Search at dusk and dawn, and carry a flashlight. Eye shine can be your best friend! Don't forget to look UP! Cats often take refuge in trees, then can't get down. Also, try placing her litter box outside at night. That scent travels a loooooooong way, and can bring a cat back home.

An idea that I read here earlier this year was to create an email address for the search and put it on flyers BUT put the flyers in the rear windshields of all the cars that you can. That is what worked for one of our fellow members - the cat had traveled miles away and was being fed by kind people in an apartment complex. One of the complex residents recognized the cat from the flyer. That resident would have not seen any of the stationary flyers posted in the cat's neighborhood. Happily, the cat was a bit thin but very happy to be home again.
