Adam and Eve said, 'Lord, when we were in the garden, you walked with us every day. Now we do not see you anymore. We are lonesome here, and it is difficult for us to remember how much you love us.'
And God said, I will create a companion for you that will be with you and who will be a reflection of my love for you, so that you will love me even when you cannot see me Regardless of how selfish or childish or unlovable you may be, this new companion will accept you as you are and will love you as I do, in spite of yourselves.
And God created a new animal to be a companion for Adam and Eve.
And it was a good animal and God was pleased.
And the new animal was pleased to be with Adam and Eve and he wagged his tail
And Adam said, 'Lord, I have already named all the animals in the Kingdom and I cannot think of a name for this new animal.'
And God said, 'I have created this new animal to be a reflection of my love for you, his name will be a reflection of my own name, and you will call him DOG.
And Dog lived with Adam and Eve and was a companion to them and loved them.
And they were comforted.
And God was pleased
And Dog was content and wagged his tail.
After a while, it came to pass that an angel came to the Lord and said, 'Lord, Adam and Eve have become filled with pride. They strut and preen like peacocks and they believe they are worthy of adoration. Dog has indeed taught them that they are loved, but perhaps too well.'
And God said, I will create for them a companion who will be with them and who will see them as they are. The companion will remind them of their limitations, so they will know that they are not always worthy of adoration.'
And God created CAT to be a companion to Adam and Eve.
And Cat would not obey them. And when Adam and Eve gazed into Cat's eyes, they were reminded that they were not the Supreme Beings.
And Adam and Eve learned humility.
And they were greatly improved.
And God was pleased.
And Dog was happy.
And Cat . . .
didn't give a flip one way or the other…….

Surgery is going well, but slow. Supposed to take 14-24 hours.

Had an appt with the bone doctor yesterday, he said it was healing up nicely but will certainly take 4 more weeks and to keep the boot on as much as possible and the leg elevated. He also gave me a prescription for an opioid for the pain which keeps me from sleeping or wakes me up and then I can't go back to sleep. Not happy about the opioid but it did the trick last night and this morning I took 2 ibuprofin and I still don't have any pain which is great. He said to take ibuprofin only once a day because there is evidence that ibuprofin hinders healing, to take other otc pain killers instead. Staying so much off my feet and not eating much due to no appetite and no occasion for snacking I have lost some more weight which is ok but all my jeans now need a belt or they fall off my hips and I neither have the money nor do I have the inclination with that bum foot to buy more jeans even if they are from the thrift shop. I've never read so much or watched as much TV as I do now when I spend most of my day on my bed with kitties congregating next to me but never touching each other.

I hope you recover more quickly than anticipated. I can understand about losing the weight and having your jeans being loose. Been there too. I like the army surplus belts. They adjust easily and quickly as well as being easy to fasten and unfasten. You can get them in a light tan as well as green. They are fabric and comfortable as well as inexpensive. This is really cute!

I haven’t been here in the thread in awhile. I am so sorry that Shane is having to go through all of this. Your family as well. My daughter went through a great many health issues so I can imagine how hard this is for everyone. I am sending all the hope and love possible. My heart is with you. I stopped in to express concern for all of our members who are in the path of Barry. May you all stay safe and far from harm or damage.

He still has a long road ahead of him. They said they were only going after enough of the tumor to make sure he had at least 50/50 odds of surviving surgery. Radiation is next.
He has youth and strength on his side. Children are often much tougher than adults. Let’s hold on to that thought. My daughter always amazed me with her recuperative powers. Please keep us updated. You’ll all be in our hearts and on our minds.

As well as kidney damage. This is true with any NSAID, so be aware of how much and how often you take them.
I was on these for my migraines and caused what showed on blood test as stage 3 CKD. Fortunately, my kidneys are back to normal, but I can never take another NSAID...ever.
So glad he is doing well after surgery. Hope the radiation kicks the tumor's butt.
Glad to hear you are mending nicely and you a good night's sleep. Maybe you can buy some jeans from EBay? I've bought used clothing from there and have been pleased with what I bought. A lot of sellers have free shipping. So cute that kitties are keeping you company.

My parents drove to Florida for a school reunion, and are on their way back now. My mom just texted me a picture of her receipt from a fast food restaurant in Mississippi, where the cashier put her name down as "Ms [name]". That's how you know you're in the South!
