Hi all, this cute little ginger kitty showed up on our porch a week ago. We just recently said goodbye to our cat of 17 years and hadn’t planned on bringing home another one but we decided to bring her in. Vet said she’s at least 8 weeks old (although a bit underweight). My question is: is she a long hair? She has long ear furnishings which lead me to believe she is but wasn’t sure if that’s even a way to tell. Her hair isn’t short but not really what I would consider “long” either. Does it change as they get older? My previous cats have all been a little older when we got them and have been considered short hair.
Thanks for your help!

Do you have any pictures of her tail? The tail and toe beans are usually fairly decent indicators of fur length. But I've had a kitten that looked shorthair but poofed at a year old and I currently have one who poofs just in the winter months and then goes back to super short.

She’s a beauty! Her fur looks a lot like Lily’s and Iris’s fur did when they were kittens, and they’re long haired as adults. Also, I think I see toe floof—tufts of long hair between her toes—in that third picture.
