I'm not sure I want to see it. I was crazy about the original when I was a kid, and I still regard it as a masterpiece.

I don't know, I just don't want anything to potentially taint that for me, you know?

I want to see it, but Mufasa's death in HD..:disturbed:
I wish they could have got Jeremy Irons to reprise his role of Scar. This Scar does not sound as evil and menacing.

Yep, brings back the child in me! Can't wait to watch it, too.
Don't know why at my age I still love watching these kinds of movies, especially those marvel superheroes.

I've never seen the original. :paperbag:

So I have nothing to hold this one up against. I saw Sir Elton's name in the credits. Is his version of The Circle of Life in this one? I hope so. It's so good. I adore Sir Elton. Adding the video just because.

I'd like to see it but I do NOT want to be in the theater with a bunch of children. I have no patience for whining or crying in public. Hopefully, our AMC will have late showings for people like me. :gaah:

Have you seen Captain Marvel? Goose needs his own spin-off movie. Or make him an Avenger.
Yep, totally! He should have his own full length movie! Can we sign a petition or something? LOL

This is what Wikipedia says: it was reported that Elton John had signed onto the project to rework his musical compositions from the original film before his retirement. The following day it was reported that Beyoncé would be assisting John in the reworking of the soundtrack. On February 9, 2018, John reported that he, Tim Rice and Beyoncé would create a new song for the end credits of the film. Later that month, it was announced that four songs from the original film would be included: "Circle of Life", "I Just Can't Wait to Be King", "Hakuna Matata", and "Can You Feel the Love Tonight",

I alternate between excitement and feeling like this about all the remakes. Beauty and the Beast was/is my favorite and I enjoyed the remake. I just waited till it was on bluray before seeing it.

I really don't care for sitting in movie theaters and so many movies don't interest me anyway. I let the grandparents take my kids to the movies and I wait for the disc release on ones I know I really want to see.

Oh that's disappointing. Certain voices just go with certain characters.

I'm sure whenever I do see it; it will be well done though.

I loved it and so did the 10 year old that went with me.
It does seem a little scary for the tiny kids but they looked like they were enjoying it .

Just got back from seeing it! No major complaints. I think it was very well done and the music was on par with the original.

I didn't care for the new song they added in, but that's just me. it didn't "vibe" with the rest of the music. Too modern and pop-ish.

I wish they had done Be Prepared...better. I feel like what they did in this movie was a fraction of what it should have been. Jeremy Iron would have been preferred, but I think this actor did a good job.

My only complaint is that they left out the scene where Scar attacks Simba from the flames! I wish they had done that- I was leaning in my seat in anticipation. When they re-released it in 3D several years ago (2012?), that scene had everyone jerk backwards in their chair. I was so looking forward to it!
