Winchester Winchester Gloria Allred will take Molli's case against the beast.

ETA: Sophie's not afraid of the vacuum either. I think that if I had a robotic one, she'd ride it around the house. She's my little tomboy. Lilith hates it.

Unlike the girls, The Beast doesn't mind the vacuum cleaner at all. She'll get out of my way, but she doesn't flip out. Weird, considering she flips out over everything else.
That reminds me of my friend's baby when she was a newborn. If they wanted to stop crying and go to sleep they had to take her in the bathroom and run the hair dryer.

When I was a baby, in order to get me to go to sleep, Dad would drive around the base for a good hour every night with me in the car. It was the only way I'd fall asleep. They said that, once I fell asleep, I slept the night. It was just getting me to sleep.

Here are some pictures of the inside of the shed......

Rick and I have been talking about the ceiling. In the center of the ceiling, where the transom dormer is, we're keeping the vault. That will be finished in wood and the chandelier will hang in the center (I found a really kitschy chandelier that I want). Both ends of the ceiling are going to be drywalled and then painted. Hopefully that will give a bit of contrast to the ceiling. We'll also need access to both ends of the roof, just in case something happens and we need to get up in there for some reason....you never know. We're thinking of a small door or some other kind of opening.

We were going to put a small AC unit in the northern window, where it's always shaded. However, after looking at the screens in the window, we see that they don't open. We're going to have to figure something out, probably some kind of AC room unit. We will need AC to combat the humidity, more so than the sun because this area is relatively shaded (the southern end gets morning sun, but that's it). But the humidity around here is terrible and that might do damage to the books, I think.

I'm so glad you all like the shed! My coworker started to call it the McShed (like the McMansions, but on a way smaller scale!).

Oh, and did I mention that Rick has already staked a claim to the shed during football season?!

Kat0121 Kat0121 Rick told Mollipop about The Beast being in the shed; she started screaming something about feline blasphemy and getting a feline lawyer; she wants to sue The Beast. In an attempt to appease her, I took her out to the shed. She was not amused. She was slinking around and she was only too glad to get back to the house. When we got back to the house, Jackie said, "Me, me, me! I'll go! C'mon!" So off we went. She went in, sniffed around to see what the electrician had done and flopped down on the floor, while we vacuumed sawdust and such inside (we used an extension cord to vacuum). Unlike the girls, The Beast doesn't mind the vacuum cleaner at all. She'll get out of my way, but she doesn't flip out. Weird, considering she flips out over everything else.
Ha!!!!! Guess the Beast thinks the shed is hers, hee, hee. Weird how the noises don't bother her, sweet girl.

So, so amazing! I bet you're so excited. Can't wait to see the chandelier. The inside door looks so bright and cheery. Will you have a desk? Will be so nice and cozy. I bet Molli will love it since the Beast finds it relaxing and calming. ;) It looks huge!

Cute how Rick loves it as well!

Mia6 Mia6 and Kat0121 Kat0121 We're going to have the Battle of Cat and Dog!
Seriously, Molli wants nothing to do with it. I'm hoping that will change once it's finished and we have furniture in it.

I'm looking for some kind of table, but not sure what I want yet. We've been looking at sofa beds and one chair, too. I will also need some smaller tables to put by the windows for my plants.

I don't want to run right out and furnish it. I don't know how to explain it, but I'm just kind of looking around. I'll know what I want when I see it.

Wow! You chose well, grasshopper.

Have you thought of a futon sofa that converts to a bed? A friend had one that was incredibly comfy. It was quick to convert, too. Take your time. The right furnishings will find you.

Once there are some familiar-smelling things inside, Molli was be perfectly happy.
