I use Chewy.com also...its Awsome
Yes. If I didn't have Mom here I'd use it because I'd also get $20 back first time customer through Swagbucks but as usual I have to try to find a way of working around her. I know she can't help it if she is in early dementia but it still makes things tough, especially when she works herself into a heart attack

No. I asked the neighbors. Still need to find a way of sneaking the food onto the property

I'm sorry about your mom. For what it's worth I know someone who's dementia became more manageable with a change of meds. Of course she probably wouldn't participate in that.

I'm having a similar problem with the cat I've adopted. He just pushes and licks food. I've had the best luck with a very soft, solid pate w/ a bit of gravy served solid. (nutro brand) As he pushes and licks, he does ingest some of the meat. However he doesn't go back for seconds and ends up not taking in enough wet food.

I vote for the emersion blender. I have three cats, and when two of them loved shreds with gravy, the female just could not seem to figure out how to eat it. I used the emersion blender to blend it smooth (then it was Weruva Paw Lickin' Chicken). She lapped it up. I know that Weruva makes a Slide and Serve line now that looks like baby food. I am sorry about your mom. We had to move my mom to memory care due to her dementia for her own safety a few years ago. My father had Alzheimer's for over 10 years, and my mom cared for him. Bless you. If you can shop where you can get Nutro, their pates are a soft pate or their minced foods in gravy seem to be loved by many cats, and you might be able to mash with a spoon or fork if no blender.

If the food is drying out before they come back, don't be afraid to add some water to it. :) our old man loves to nibble, so a toich of water keeps his wet food viable for much longer.

This may have already been covered, and I'm sorry if it already has been.
Can your kitty eat dry food? It is just because of her teeth that you are trying to get her to eat wet?
If so.
Can you get a cheap coffee grinder or something of the sorts, and pulverize the dry food into a powder, then add some "gravy topper" to the now powdered dry food so it's more of a glop?
If your cat prefers kibble over wet foods, this might be a good option until you are able to get the teeth taken care of.

As for getting kitchen appliances for your cat, it's yard sale season where I am, I wonder if you would be able to find a blender or something like that for cheap at a yard sale? Or check online. We have what's called Kijiji, where people post their stuff that they want to sell. Maybe you have a something along those lines where you're from.

Another way you can mush up the wet food is to get a small metal strainer from the dollar store. Put the food in it and use a spoon to mush it thru the mesh. It can be tedious, but it does work, at least until you get your immersion blender.

I have the same problem with my Barley. What I do is feed him very small amount of wet food - as in very small, like half a tablespoon. He has no choice but to lick it up. Then I add again, and again, until he eats his whole meal portion. There are still dry left overs, but not as plenty as before. The only issue here is I have to sit on the floor beside him as he eats.

Thanks all for the replies. Remember these are stray cats so they're outside as Mom will not relent on letting them inside or even in the garage. So bugs get into the bowls. Just trying to find a happy medium here.
