Anyone use them?

I was going to buy a Stella's Chicken Raw Freeze Dried 18oz bag for airplane trip next mos. -- for our cat, & hopefully the feral too.
I was told way back that they use ingredients that are different in new formula but can't confirm. Anyone know if this is ok for cats? TY :)

Also, turkey or chicken of either Instinct or Weruva (unsure which is better brand, so any help is appreciated!) as an option -- once we get settled after across USA move.

TY all. ;)

Hi!
I'm not familiar with Stella, but both Instinct and weruva are good brands.

You'll want to start feeding the Stella a little bit at a time now so that it isn't an abrupt change for them, since they'll also be dealing with different water (if you aren't, you could try a pitcher or faucet-end water filter).

Once there, have some of the old food so that you can again do a slow transition to the new food.

In addition to the food, to help in the new place have some music, there's MusicForCats . com or the app Relax My Cat :)

Stella and Chewy's freeze dried raw is crack for my cat (the turkey is anyway). I think he would eat a whole bag of it in one sitting if he could. He was fed dry food for his entire life up until recently. I cannot feed the S&C freeze dried to him as standalone meals because I know he won't want anything else. He gets one or two morsels as an occasional treat but I use it regularly as a topper for his canned meals and his home-made food. Just 2 or 3 morsels crumbled on top.

At any rate, it's expensive but a good food. The caveat is that it does contain bone which can be a problem for some cats. It probably would be an issue for mine if I fed it as a primary food.

TY both of you :) I think Stella's now has a bone & a no bone version? There was alot of issues e Stella's a few r ago but resolved now as some ingredients were removed that were in question, from what I hear back then.

Ok, Stell's is $$$ but cats are worth it as I spend all on them & less on me. Haha, their lives are shorter than ours on avg & I'm not so thrilled that I want stay on the planet that long. lol

It just ain't THAT good to sacrifice their nutrition for mine. My luck they'll cure everything & folks who aren't always thrilled to be here, like my grandpop before he passed, will now live to 120. uh oh... ;)

But, again, TY for the cat info. Stella's Chicken Morsels (Freeze dried) it is. W/ cans of Weruva a backup, upon arrival at new apt across the country. A long summer ahead to prepare & catch the feral & fix him yet. Wish me luck. :)

Stella and Chewy's has a newer frozen raw variety called Selects. They don't contain bone. They are only available in two proteins, one of them being Turkey. I do feed a little bit of that as well. Their other frozen raw foods do contain bone. And as far as I know, all of their freeze dried dinner morsels do contain bone. I'm not sure of the % of bone. I don't think that their canned (actually boxed) wet foods contain bone.

TY! :)

I will call my local feed store to see what they do have. Select would be best as phosphorous from bone is bad for kidney cats, I think.

Select is only frozen, no freeze-dried. The regular S&C foods had very high phosphorous (there are old threads on this!) and the foods have always seemed very bony. Beyond the phosphorus issue, some cats (including one of ours) can get constipated if they eat too much bone.
