If anyone here doesn’t know about it, there is a thread contest for kitty whiskers! Lol There are some amazing whiskers there but I like all of the kitty. I think kitty tails are cute too so how about everyone showing heads and tails of their kitties? I’ve noticed how whiskers shift with kitty expressions and mood. Kitty tails express a lot too.

Whistle will start the tails!:kitty:

Just kind of hanging out.

Does anyone have photos of different tail positions that show kitty moods? ;)
Body language extends from head to tail! :p
Have a happy night everyone.:)

I have one in particular that I remember was funny. But how to find it out of thousands of photos. :headscratch:

Oh, I know that problem! Over 7000 on my phone! Lol I am constantly hunting a specific photo. I do hope you find it though. Funny tails could be really funny!

The kitties gave me some tail shots last night. It was an interesting night. Lol

Lady was so pleased with your compliment she rolled over with pleasure. She offers you her tummy and a raised paw! :lovecat3:View attachment 289842
Thank you, lovely Lady!
Oh, yes. Cats are so expressive from whiskers to tails, aren't they? So elegant and eloquent.

Here we have a sort of *Two Happy Tails/Coming and Going* Elvis and Tarifa. This was shortly after Elvis joined us, and he had his "lion tail" which has since grown out into a normal shorthaired cat tail.

Wow! Those are really cool !!! And, yes, made me smile. :catman:
Glad you liked them. When I get bored, I’ll make something out of anything! Lol I liked the daisies and poppies the best but I’ve given most of them away. The cats tend to play with them a lot too. Flower petals everywhere! The stems are just pieces of bamboo. I couldn’t fool Lady though! A true garden lady knows her flowers. :lovecat:

Two happy tails. I love it. Did they have questions about each other? Question mark? Lol ! Thanks for adding a tail photo! Thank you Elvis and Tarifa for giving Mom the tail expressions!

Those flowers are gorgeous! When I was small, I did a lot of creative things, and one of them was making these paper flowers out of something called crepe paper. IDK if they sell it any more. My grandparents made these papier mache logs with paper flowers on them and sold them door to door at one point in their lives long before I was born, so I never saw them, but I heard about them and always wished I had one as a treasured memento of them. Your pine cone flowers are amazing! Did you come up with those yourself or ???
Yeah, I'm pretty sure Elvis was even then working up his nerve to "pop the question" to Tarifa and Tarifa was kind of confused, because, you see, they're both "fixed" -- but that doesn't stop Elvis from trying. *You asked!* He really, really tries. She's not interested. I tell him we're all "fixed" in this house, but he doesn't care.:nono::sigh:

Tonight is all about heads and tails. Reading our kitties through body language. The kitties gave me a purrfect opportunity to show this when they asked for my attention late last night.Thank you kitties. Great timing. Banjo must have been reading the post over my shoulder last night!

Question! Is there something outside?

8E9D768E-79F8-40FA-8DCC-9D6B6ED21979.jpeg

Okay kitties. Come away from the door.
6BC74A6D-2D49-46EB-84B0-3659EDAAB685.jpeg

Banjo, Whistle and Bonjure are very brave once the door is closed!:kitty:  Tails and Whiskers are still down though. I suspect the glowing eyes outside the door were the cats that belong to my neighbor but I guess it could have been raccoons. However, I think they would have come back to eat the food I put out before I shut the door.
The kitties made sure to “tell” me what was going on outside though. We may not get all the details but the cats definetly communicate in their own way. From head to tail! Lol

I couldn’t get all the kitties that gathered in one photo but twelve were in the hallway to protect the house. It took less than five minutes for them to come from all parts of the house. There wasn’t any meowing but somehow they all knew to come together in one spot. Even Bonjure ,who I had photographed in what appeared to be a very sound sleep before this. :dunno:
450F167D-5212-44CA-A70E-275F2D97E436.jpeg

As a Clowder they do act together. I have seen this before when the kitties were outside. It’s pretty amazing to witness. Thank you kitties! Mom feels very safe with you as her cat alarms! :lovecat4::catrub:
To kitties everywhere I send purrs and gratitude for the protection you give to all our human friends! :purr::petcat: We humans are always learning new things from you. :heartshape:
Have a great night kitties and friends!:redheartpump:

They do still sell crepe paper! I made flowers from it too! We have had many similar interests! I would like to have seen the papier-mâché flower logs myself! Very neat. I came up with the idea for the pine cone flowers after a lawn mower hit some. I saw that a shredded one resembled a carnation. I picked it up and decided that if I cut the top off and painted it, it really would look like a flower. After pulling off pieces of cones and cutting off the tops or bottoms, I came up with roses, carnations, poppies, mums, cosmos and a few other types of flowers. (I soaked the cones in water before using them to make sure they were fully opened and then sun dried them to fix the position) Once all petals were in place and shredded ,where needed for carnations, I painted them. It was fun figuring out how to make each cone resemble a flower. Different cones worked for different blooms. Then I cut small side branches off of some bamboo to use for flower stems. I used a dremel and tiny drill bit to put a hole in the bottom of each flower to insert and glue the stems in place. I already had acrylic pain on hand so mixing colors was easy. I used to have a huge vase full but I have given the majority of them away. These are starting to collect dust so I took them down to clean when Lady got interested in them. My flower child cat! Some have become victims of cat play too. Lol It might be time to retire them.
It was a cheap and relaxing hobby. Found art????? Nature is wonderful! She gives us so much. Sometimes it the simple pleasures that are the best.

It took a few pictures before I noticed the eyes in the door window! :eek2: No wonder the clowder gathered en masse! You're so lucky to have your own feline security alarms. :petcat: :catlove: :heartshape:

I know! It took me a few minutes to see them too! Eeeee! We’re being watched!
:lol::running::help:
The kitties told me. It pays to watch our kitties attitudes. :p

Jcatbird Jcatbird How talented you are! Those flowers are absolutely gorgeous. You could sell them. We had dozens of conifers on our land in the Mojave (Yes, at 4,100 feet in the high desert, there are a lot of conifers, as well as yuccas and joshuas. It's the confluence of mountains and desert, so you get the best of each.) and I saved some of the cones. I just use them as-is in decorations in winter time. They remind me of my beloved trees and land.
Cats are the best guardians IMHO! Many times I have heard growling from mine and not known why, but I am sure that there was a very good reason, such as a raccoon, oppossum, skunk, or someone else close by. You got some amazing photos of your clowder defending you and your home from "interlopers"!

Thanks. We have so many pines here that cones are a constant. It’s always an issue to keep them cleared away but I hate waste. From the time I was little I saw them used as craft material or just decoration as they were , but it always struck me that I should be able to use them for something besides the standard, Turkey body with construction paper head and tail at Thanksgiving or turned on the large end and sprinkled with glitter to be Christmas trees at Christmas. If that lawn mower hadn’t shredded that one, I never would have seen them as flowers. Maybe I could put them out at the next yard sale. Lol

My kitties really did rally to block the door. I can only imagine what they would do if an intruder actually came in. NO CAT BURGLARS allowed!:angrycat::petcat:

They really are gorgeous and when you look at floral arrangements and craft projects online and elsewhere, they certainly compare favorably! I would think there would be a market for them.

Did you ever have one of those days when your cats were having one of “those” days? Nothing bad but the kinds of things that just crack us up? Cats appear very human when they do things like this.

A brother and sister discussion....
