I like to smell her too, haha. We also blow raspberries on her back or side. My boyfriend plays a little game he calls 'aai poesje' (translated in English: 'pet kitty') with her. That means that he gently strokes her paws saying 'aai poesje'. Mostly it results in some sort of stare down, where Penny's paws are up and my boyfriends hands too. When she tries to pat his hands, he pulls his hand back. Then he tries again, and so on and so further until someone gives up. We laugh a LOT when he plays that game with her.

Lola has a certain room she goes into to sleep/play at night. She roams the rest of the house during the day. When I come to put her in the room she's typically snoozing on the couch. I'll call to her and approach her. She leaps off the couch and runs behind the piano. She'll look behind her and if she sees me, she'll run out the other side of the piano and try to beat me to her room's door.
Most of the time she wins ; I've only beat her a few times. She only does this if I'm the one putting her into her room. I don't think she does with my other family members.
She's the one that invented it. I don't know why she does it, but I'm glad she does. If I've had a bad day our game will cheer me up.

I huff my cat. I love to smell my cat. I'm so lucky he doesn't get upset with me.

I've done it from the moment that he came home to us, because I always heard people talking about new baby smell but I've never smelled a baby.
Gohan always smells confoundedly like dryer sheets. So fresh!

I read hear about people huffing their cat and I tried it with Olive - she’s more earthy, eau de Damp Mushroom

Mouse loves playing hide and seek too.:hyper: non cat people will look at me like I'm completely daft when I describe our games. It's brilliant to see a video of another household that loves this game TobiDaDog TobiDaDog . It's too funny when they jump in the air as the find their human then race off checking out someone's racing after them. I'm a bit big for hiding behind furniture so it's usually doors and corners of walls.

Of course huffing is also one of my favourite pursuits and Mouse will often roll over on to his back, limbs stretched out so I can burrow my nose in to his belly fur - not something to try with regular cats of course but Mouse loves it. I can't say his scent is as sweet as others have said - it's what I imagine a clean but sweaty mouse might smell like. :ohwell:

Yes non cat people and their looks!! They just don't know how smart cats are.

On another note, I see so many people talking about loving their cat's smell...I can't say that about my two...while Sir has basically no scent, Reese has a very odd one that puts people off. Some people can smell it and some can't.

The best I can describe it is smelling like dewormer. A real chalky smell. When I found her, this was one of the reasons why I thought she belonged to someone. I thought she'd been given medicine recently! Nope, a year later and she still kicks up that weird smell from time to time. It was much worse when she was a kitten though.

My Krista has been through a lot. These may sound silly now but they used to represent big victories for her. I do a little dance for her every time we open a new 5.5 oz can (“I’m just burning doing the new can dance!”) She’s eating over 8 oz a day now so she has me dancing a lot now. I also sing her poop songs which are either Eric Church’s Desperate Man with the doot doot doot part replaced with poop (“desperate cat!”). Or sometimes I clean her box expecting a poop and it’s not there. So I sing the “no poop” song which is sung to the melody of the Bewitched theme song. “No poop. No poop oh no poop...”

I don’t know if I would call this silly or smart. But after over a dozen years of trying different brush products, I finally found that I can use a nylon stocking to groom Krista. I think what’s silly is this cat dad driving around town looking for a store that still carries pantyhose. Knee highs work best as I only need to get my hand in it and they come in more pairs to the box.

Moki has 2 favorite balls and a stuffed pound kitten, that I toss down the hallway, every day. He plays cat soccer, then bites and carries the kitten around a bit. I keep him interested in the kitten by dousing it with catnip occasionally. I bought him a battery toy, the fox den, at bed bath beyond, which amused him a couple weeks...until he realized it was a fake fox tail.

When I’m listening to loud music I like to dance “at” my cats. Clove gets really excited and starts purring and meowing and jumping in the air to get my moving arms. Chilli gives me a judgmental, uncomfortable side-eye from across the room.

Otherwise, I think the silliest thing I do is talk to them in a weird accent and call them a variety of weird names.

My cat smells like dryer sheets, too! He smelled more like them as a baby, though.
