I know the Surepet feeder works by microchip but it's not programmable to allow access to the food a a set time. I don't need food available all the time, just at a certain programmed time. Are there any other feeders out there for canned or raw food that are programmable and works by microchip? I have a regular programmable timed feeder but with two cats, I have no way of know who's eating the food.

I've never used a timed feeder, so can't advise. However, I did consider getting one for Ruby back when she was food-obsessed and would eat every speck in her dish at one setting.

A micro-chipped programmable one seems like a good idea. Hopefully you can find one.

OK...been digging, and I can't find one with both of those features, either. However, I DID find a cat door with both...is there a room that you could close off for her food, and install the cat door into the existing door? OR you could get a handy person to install the door into the side of a large, transparent storage box with lid (lets you fill dishes easily).

The only door would be the bedroom door but I don't allow the cats access to the bedroom when I'm not at home. My mouse lives in the bedroom and while the cats pretty much ignore him, I like to be extra cautious. The litter box is in the bathroom and both cats need access to that.

Remotely opening a feeder via WI-Fi would work in theory but I'd still have no idea if Leroy is eating the food or if it's Emma. I think Leroy would need a sound cue to (eventually) make the connection between sound and food available

I'll look for a local handy man. I don't have any relatives or friends who have tools to turn a storage box into a feeder box.

Don't know if it would help, but there are really good but inexpensive ( $20 ) wifi cameras available now that you could use to monitor the food: www.wyzecam.com. They also record continually so you don't have to actually watch at all times to see what happens. I know you are trying to prevent one cat from eating the others food and just watching them wouldn't do that but maybe you can use a camera to see how well a possible solution works.

You could buy a cheap game camera which would allow you to see who is eating and when...

You will need a computer, tablet etc. that will read an SD Card.

I recently found the iPettie Donut 6-Meal Automatic Pet Feeder with Programmable Timer. There are several good reviews on Amazon now. It looks good. I am working busying every day and also want to purchase this feeder to have a try.

Hope my reply helps for you.
