WASHER! :fear: Luckily, I looked in there before I turned the water on.

This one time I forget to close the lids and she went in there.

Be careful guys and keep those washer and dryer lids closed.

Glad you checked :grouphug:

Good to have a reminder to always check the washer and dryer before adding clothes or turning on the water :agree: Add a big obnoxious hard-to-miss big bright note to the front of the machines or right over the on / off button as a reminder if needed.

We washed a gecko amongst some clothing brought back from a holiday once, full cycle. My young son had secreted it then forgot.
It came out fit and well and very very clean.
I don't think a cat would fair so well.

That is amazing actually, consider all the water, soap and agitation it had to endure. Hot, warm or cold water?

A coworker's cat died after getting locked in the dryer. Her daughter didn't know the cat had gotten in there. :sigh:

Ouch. Did it heal okay? Poor thing.
It was just so sad, her tail was bent about two inches down. Where most cats would run when hurt, she just stood their howling and looking up at me. So of course I scooped her up and we both cried for a long while . I cried more after I called the vet and she said there isn’t much to be done, either the tail heals, sometimes permanently kinked or the broken piece falls off. Fortunately Miss Murphy went one to live a long life without so much as a kink in her tail.

I'm glad you checked! When I lived at home with my parents, I would do the same because we had a cat who loved to sleep in confined spaces.

Now, my cats can't go in the laundry room. But that's because it's partially unfinished and I don't trust them not to chew on wires coming from the breaker box, play with insulation... you know, cat stuff!
